The James Bond flicks have created some of the most memorable bad guys in all of films. Sure, it may be a little unfair because the franchise has lasted for decades and decades, but when it is all said and done, there are pretty well-drawn bad guys. One of my favorites is Bond's ex-pal 006 from Goldeneye. Sure, he may not have all the quirky features as some of the more iconic bad guys, but seeing a fellow agent turn bad guy and really put Bond in some sticky situations? Awesome. Probably one of the most underrated bad guys in the entire Bond series.
2. The Lady Killers
One of the most overlooked features of these Bond flicks is just what side the female characters are on. Never believe what you see, as plenty of times Bond has been busted sleeping with the enemy. Literally! I do not want to give away any spoilers in case any of the newcomers want to start up a Bond collection, but just keep in mind the ladies have always had a 50/50 shot of being deadlier than the men in these 007 flicks.
3. Ernst Stavro Blofeid
Bond spend three years trying to put an end to Ernst Stavro Blofeid. After killing 007's wife on their honeymoon, and surviving round two of the ongoing international grudge, the secret agent finally rids the world of this anti-Bond-survivor by throwing him and his smashed-up submarine into the water never to be seen again. I guess that goes to show you don't piss off a "worldly" spy.
4. Mr. Big
Before Carrie Bradshaw fell for Big, James Bond was feeding the original Mr. Big to the sharks, literally. In 1973, the dual-identity bad guy was responsible for distributing the United States' largest heroin shipments. Also known as Dr. Kananga, the 007 villain's only goal was to drive other drug cartels out of business. But that plan didn't last too long. After getting his poppy fields blown up, Bond places a compressed gas capsule into Mr. Big, causing him to explode. What a way to go!
5. Max Zorin
Played by the famed Christopher Walken, Max Zorin was on a mission to destroy Silicon Valley with a massive earthquake in an attempt to take over the microchip market. With the help of Max' ex-lover, Bond takes the money-hungry villain down by having a necessary bomb removed from his technological scheme. In the end, Zorin dies--jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge.
