After the Los Angeles Lakers kicked off the 2012-2013 season with their worst start since 1978, Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz let the world know he is still riding behind team leader Kobe Bryant.
Following their 105-95 loss Friday (November 2) night against the hometown rival Clippers, Chainz vowed loyalty to the former NBA champion.
"IM STILL RIDING WIT KOBE!!!," Chainz tweeted shortly after the loss. (2 Chainz's Twitter)
The publicized loss made it the team's worst start in over 30 years.
The Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Clippers on Friday night as Lob City took it took the Lake Show and won convincingly by a score of 105-95. While the Clippers were gelling on offense, the Lakers continued to struggle to find a rhythm and an identity for their offense. The result is an 0-3 Lakers squad. It is the team's worst start since the 1978-79 season. There is some good news, however, for the Lakers. Despite the 0-3 start during the 1978 season, the Lakers went on to make the playoffs but lost in the conference semifinals. (Fan Sided)
According to reports, Bryant said he still has dreams of winning a championship despite the unimpressive season start.
But win or lose, Kobe Bryant still gonna be Kobe Bryant (let's not forget, he did put up 40 points against the Clippers with a strained right foot). This Yahoo! Sports article shows that the Black Mamba is as confident as ever, as he's quoted comparing his team (sorry, Dwight) to the 1990-91 Chicago Bulls: "I know the story of the game of basketball. The Bulls went through this in the 1990-91 [season]. It's process. [Stuff] happens. You got to figure your way through," Bryant said. The 1990-91 Bulls were 0-3 before going on to win the championship that year. Funny enough, they beat the Lakers, 4-1, in the Finals to take the trophy. (Complex)
Recently, former Shady Records rapper Ca$his told SOHH he is Team Kobe all day.
"This is where me and my mama beef on this all the time. We always beef on this because I'm from the Chi and so I rock with Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls but I'm Lakers all day. Kobe Bryant. It's Kobe Bryant, come on man. Kobe. Watching Kobe is like watching [Michael] Jordan. Ain't no way, ain't no way [I could say otherwise]. As long as Kobe's playing ball, I'm rocking with whatever team Kobe plays on. All day. [When I heard about Dwight Howard], I was wilding out. I couldn't believe it because I didn't think it was going to go down. I think one of the key things was being able to keep Pau Gasol. I've been rocking with Gasol for a minute. He's a beast. Pau is one of the best power forwards in the game." (SOHH Guest Star)
