G-Unit leader 50 Cent recently talked about the criticism he receives with his music and which mega rap star's he can accept and learn from.
According to Fif, the only hip-hop artist's criticism he truly respects is from Shady Records boss Eminem.
"I can't accept constructive criticism from someone if I'm not sure what their intentions are," Fif explained. "But when someone's been in my corner my entire musical career -- I'll say this, Dre's done wonderful things for me in my career, but the idea of working with 50 Cent came from Eminem." (MTV)
Slim Shady responded to the nod and also bigged up 50's own constructive criticism.
The Detroit rapper seemed a little bashful as 50 Cent heaped on the praise, adding that he simply wants to add his input at this point. "I feel like I always wanna be there, just to executive produce or oversee things, but Fif knows what he's doing so I don't really gotta tell him much," Em said. "At this point in his career, he's done enough [so now] he just brings me the record and I kinda always wanna give my opinion." (MTV)
Recently, Curtis Jackson credited his entire career to the 40 year-old rap star.
"My career wouldn't even exist, I wouldn't even be talking to you if it wasn't for Em," 50 Cent explained. "It's amazing that later in your life you could find someone that means so much to the comfort in your actual life. My grandparents were that for me before Em." (Carson Daly)
Over the summer, Em detailed his admiration and close-knit bond to the G-Unit head.
"Ever since we started making music with Fif, it was kind of like a mutual respect thing and we became friends outside of the music," Em said in an interview referring to his bond with 50. "If you put the music aside, we can just talk about [anything], you know what I'm saying? 50 is very big on the business aspect in his career. I would consider him a smart businessman. Not saying that I'm not, but I don't get into as much of the technical aspect in the business sense. Like, I have no idea what's going on. Ever. I don't even know where I'm at right now."
