St. Lunatics leader Nelly reportedly got arrested late last night (October 10) in Texas as reports claim authorities discovered drugs and a weapon on his tour bus.
Reports of his late night arrest hit the Internet Thursday afternoon.
Rapper Nelly was detained last night in Texas while police officers searched his tour bus -- and found HEROIN in addition to a loaded gun ... and MASSIVE amounts of weed ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ. According to law enforcement sources, Nelly's bus was stopped at a border patrol checkpoint in Sierra Blanca -- and a police canine detected the presence of drugs. We're told cops pulled the bus over -- and after performing a search, they found 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over TEN POUNDS of marijuana inside a large green duffel bag (an amount roughly the size of a large bed pillow). Cops also say they found a loaded .45 caliber pistol. (TMZ)
One of Nelly's tour bus riders took responsibility for the illegal items.
There were seven people riding on Nelly's bus at the time -- including the rapper -- and they were all detained during the search. According to law enforcement sources, one of the passengers -- a guy named Brian Keith Jones -- admitted the drugs and the gun were his. He was subsequently placed under arrest. Nelly and the remaining five were let go. Calls to Nelly's reps were not returned. FYI -- this is the same checkpoint where multitudes of celebs have been busted for drugs in recent years ... including Willie Nelson, Chace Crawford, Armie Hammer, Snoop Dogg, and Fiona Apple. (TMZ)
Back in 2011, the St. Lunatic leader killed reports of using drugs.
"First if you believe Slim was my manager then this is pointless anyway. Second don't nothing go in this body but fish, chicken, turkey, protein, ROZAY, Ciroc, Remy and Budweiser! Third, Ino some hoping that foreclosure statement is true but I'm sorry, 'epic fail!' Anytime anyone in STL wanna match deeds or pinkslips HOLLA! #FACTS," Nelly wrote. (The Boom Box)
No stranger to crime-related incidents, Nelly's Missouri home got burglarized three years ago.
National recording artist Nelly is assisting Law Enforcement with the investigation of the recent Burglary to his St. Louis County home. Nelly is offering a $10,000 reward in addition to the CrimeStoppers reward for information that leads to the felony arrest (not arrest and conviction) of the subject(s) responsible for the Burglary to his home in Wildwood.
