[After raising eyebrows by having Ice Cube and Danny Glover make cameos in his new "Cruise Control" music video, West Coast rapper E-A-Ski explains his Hollywood connection.]
A lot of people don't know that Danny Glover is from the Bay Area. He's from Fresno. So being that he's from here, I'm an activist too as far as talking to the kids and the young kids about what's going on with the violence and keeping them in school.
Me and Danny have known each other for over 15 years. We used to always do public speakings together. We did a BET thing for charity, speaking for the kids and stuff like that, donating money. We've always done that.
So when we hooked back up, we work out at the same gym, we were just happy to be talking about what we were working on. He was telling me what he was working on and I was telling him what I was workign on. We sort of brainstormed and thought it would be dope to do some stuff together to showcase film and hip-hop and music and really try to kill the misogyny of cats just dancing around in music videos.
We really wanted to put a story behind it and really have it looking like a real storyline. That's the real relationship. Me and Danny have always had the relationship of being activists and going and doing our movies.
We wanted to focus on putting the music and movies together.
