[Six years since his last album, Year Of The Dog...Again, DMX is finally releasing a new soundtrack for the streets! Today, the Yonkers'-bred MC is dropping his long awaited LP, Undisputed. It's a story for the fans coming straight from the soul. As crowds get ready to flock to the stores, Executive Producer Dame Grease is telling readers the top five reasons to cop Undisputed.]
1. Return Of X
Basically it's just the shit. It's been six years since his last album was put out. Everybody is aware of the jail sentence and different things, but this album is getting back to the person you know--who you knew before the controversy.
2. Let The Truth Be Told
It's one of the album's your gonna hear for a long time where's someone's telling the truth and not fabricating their life. A lot of music is a fabrication of life [and] selling fantasies. But with this album and a lot of albums that just came out--Nas' album just came out with was a truthful album, just a real good music album--[X's] album is another one that's a truthful album. He pours out [his heart]. If anyone's seen the video, he pours out his soul and his heart. This isn't him walking into the studio saying let's just do it and get it over with. It's really him.
3. Music's CNN</p>
Believe it or not, there's actually no features on the album. On this [project] he really wanted to give the people him. It's just giving the people back the truth and reality of what's going on in the world through music. Listening to this album is like turning on CNN. We talk about situations that most people look away from.
4. Giving The People What They Need
This is an album that people need; it's music that people need, especially dealing the time we're in within the world. The situations that we have--there's a lot of things going on. We have Obama's presidency and him being re-elected, and people are hating on him. New York City's crime wave is at an all-time high. The tension that's going on in the world and in the United States right now is being expressed through this album.
5. All Grown Up
This album is its own life and its own world. It actually shows DMX growing as an artist that's been out for 15 years. The one thing he did not want to do on this album was to do music that everybody else is doing. He wanted to do an album from his heart. If you check it out, there's no tracks on there with 808 drums and sh*t like that. He wanted to do an album with full production music, and actually have the tracks musically inclined--real pianos and real instruments so he could express himself.
You Decide. Will you cop DMX's new LP?
