News: PETA Airs Out Rihanna Over Snake Skins: "She & Lady Gaga Seem So Desperate To Be Freaks"

Grammy-winning singer Rihanna is currently under fire by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) after recently stepping out in a pair of snake boots.
A PETA spokesperson released a statement slamming RiRi this week.
"Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can't go on Oprah to cry about it," said a PETA spokesperson, referring to the singer's recent appearance on Oprah Winfrey's talk show. "Wearing reptile skin is creepy and callous, and it makes her look even more out of touch. She and Lady Gaga seem so desperate to be freaks instead of recognized for their talents that you have to wonder if they realize that they are being laughed at." (Huffington Post)
Last week, PETA also went after Kanye West's girlfriend Kim Kardashian for rocking furs.
After seeing the images, a spokesmen for PETA released this statement to RumorFix exclusively: "Kim Kardashian doesn't need 140 characters to show she is heartless. Her picture says it all." And Kim isn't the only one getting under PETA's skin this month; the animal right's group has also targeted Lady Gaga after she was spotted wearing a fur piece designed by Hermes. (RumorFix)
Known for targeting high-profile celebrities, Yeezy caught the organization's attention last spring with his "Way Too Cold" track.
When PETA (People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals) learned of 'Ye's defiant lyrics, the animal rights group lashed into him with scathing words of their own. "What's draggin' on the floor is Kanye's reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings," said PETA's Senior Vice President Dan Mathews in a statement sent to XXLMag.com. "He's a great musician but doesn't seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes. We keep hoping that one day he'll find his heart and join evolved style icons--including Russell Simmons, Pink, and Natalie Portman--who have dropped animal skins." (XXL Mag)
Back in 2010, PETA also publicly went after Ye and ex-girlfriend Amber Rose for rocking furs at events.
West apparently lives by his lyrics. The ethical dropout--who horrified voters in PETA's Worst-Dressed Celebrity competition last year--and his sleazy sidekick, Amber Rose, were snapped by paparazzi strutting around Paris in "the ugliest things," indeed. Both were wearing head-to-toe fur, and Amber refused to remove her full-length lynx coat during a show at Paris Men's Fashion Week. As PETA V.P. Dan Mathews so eloquently put it, "Kanye can't help making himself look like an idiot, whether at an award's show or a fashion show. He and his girlfriend look like pathetic creatures from a shabby roadside zoo." (PETA)
