Young Money star Nicki Minaj has raised a few eyebrows courtesy of her "Mercy" Dedication 4 verse off Lil Wayne's new mixtape as she claims she will vote for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney this November.

On the record, Minaj drops a political line which at first listen sounds like she is for Team Romney.

"I got more money , in in my f*cking purse /Court side, you in the C Section," she raps, "I'm with them bloods you you with the C Section /In Malibu I'm bout a sea section /And all these b*tches is my sons, yeah C-Section /I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney/You lazy b*tches is f*cking up the economy /Out in Miami I be chilling with a zombie /Diablo Alejandro de Mello Gandhi" ("Mercy" Remix)

Despite the speculation, website Rap Genius disputes Minaj's Republican claim.

Nicki Minaj is mocking republicans, actually saying that voting for Romney would f*ck up the economy. She has stated she is for Obama and Obamacare" (Rap Genius)

However, other sites have taken the rapper's voucher seriously and as an open endorsement.

On a surprising verse from Lil Wayne's Dedication 4 mixtape, Nicki Minaj rapped a line referencing Mitt Romney over Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music's "Mercy" instrumental. During the verse Nicki Minaj reveals that she will vote for Mitt Romney in the upcoming election and says that she is a republican. (Rap Dose)

She has both previously endorsed and criticized President Barack Obama.

Some fans have suggested the line, first reported by the website Rape Dose, is sarcastic and that Minaj would actually cast her ballot for President Obama. The 27-year-old Queens-raised entertainer has criticized Obama recently, tweeting at him in June about failures of the health-care system. However, in 2009, she seemed quite enamored of the Commander-in-chief, rapping "Michelle, I got my eye on Barack Obama." Adding further intrigue, some observers have noted that on "Mercy," Minaj is rapping over beats produced by ardent Obama supporter Kanye West. (New York Daily News)
