[With her long-awaited Nobody's B*tch EP finally available today, Young Money's Shanell aka SNL tells SOHH readers why this project is going to keep the summer sizzling.]
Nobody's B*tch is like a movement. In life, everybody from male to female just wants to be able to do what they do professionally and be taken seriously.
There's been a lot of ups and downs and people want to be respected and Nobody's B*tch is a statement to all people that's doing what they're doing. It's about trying to be positive, working hard and letting people know I'm nobody's b*tch.
It's a movement but the music, to me, is a soundtrack to that statement and that lifestyle. It's a lot of fun, party music but it's a lot of unapologetic statements that people haven't been able to say or haven't been able to express.
So I put it into a collective music mixtape. So if you can't say it, you can play the music all day long.
My Lil Wayne and Drake collaboration "So Good" is the nice side of Shanell and Nobody's B*tch is more the aggressive side. So "So Good" won't be on Nobody's B*tch. I really considered putting "6 AM" on there because there's a surprise guest feature on the end of that song that I want to make sure people hear.
Shanell aka SNL is a pop artist and songwriter. She is signed to Young Money and has worked alongside producers like Bangladesh, David Guetta, Salaam Remi, Cool & Dre, Hit Boy and Justus League. She has also collaborated alongside Young Money family including Lil Wayne and Drake. Shanell is currently putting together her long-awaited solo debut and is preparing the release of an upcoming EP called Nobody's B*tch. With ample creativity, an energetic live show, proven pen skills and an ever-growing base of fans across genres, Shanell is quickly making a game-changing name for herself and a refreshing new mark in music today.
