The Clipse's No Malice recently discussed the tone behind his upcoming Hear Ye Him solo album and revealed what direction he plans to go with his music.

No Malice also said he tagged along UGK's Bun B for an upcoming single.

He hopes his solo album, Hear Ye Him, sheds more light. "The first song from that project is entitled 'June,'" No Malice told XXL at the All Access Music Conference in New York City's Webster Hall, where he was signing autographs in support of his Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind And Naked book that he dropped last year. "The video just came out, so ya'll check for the video. And my second single, 'Unforgettable,' is also out. My next single is, 'Bow Down No More' and it's featuring Bun B." "I'm just trying to bring awareness to what I got going on," he said. "Just trying to do my thing right now. I can't look left or right...focused." (XXL Mag)

The Virignia-bred rapper recently talked to SOHH about his current "June" anthem.

"As far as the creative process for this song, I was actually in the studio and I was working on some music and one of the engineers gave me this track. I listened to the Frank Sinatra sample on it and really summed up what I had been through. It summed up life, too. When you're on your high horse and everything is great and you got all the friends in the world, things can take a turn. Try and find those same friends and can't nobody loan you a dollar. That's when you see the bad. Virginia's for hustlers and we always get it back. You can see it in cats like Mike Vick, you know ... the ups and downs and we always prevail. That track really spoke to me, and I always approach the music in a way I can relate to and share it with others in a way they can relate to it as well." (SOHH Singled Out)

Back in March, he officially changed his rap alias to "No Malice."

Everyone bid farewell to the rapper you once knew as Malice, aka one half of coke-rap duo Clipse. And now, say hello to, um, No Malice. Yeap, that's the name Gene Thornton is choosing to go by from here on out. And he's making sure we all know that by releasing this video of him laying his former self to rest. As you'll see below, Malice is in the casket of a funeral home, where No Malice says his goodbyes and reveals that a new project, Hear Ye Him!, is due out this summer. Interesting.. (Prefix Mag)

He previously spoke on wanting to switch up the name to reflect his new lifestyle.

"I'm not a malicious person, and I don't really like answering to that. I know that people that follow The Clipse or follow my music, they know Malice, so I understand that, I get that," Malice said in an interview. "But you don't want to be under any moniker that's of evil intent, that's not you. I come to more believe that there's so much power in the tongue. The power of the tongue is life and death, so I believe if you are what you fall under whether it's in your subconscious or not. It's just me trying to clean up a little bit. But I haven't thought of that name yet. So Malicious is what it is right now." (Ruby Hornet TV)
