Grammy-winning rapper Kanye West showed off his "Perfect" girlfriend Kim Kardashian in the new "Way Too Cold" music video which premiered late Monday (August 13) night.
While the video starts off with DJ Khaled's "I Wish You Would," Ye's dicey anthem shortly follows.
Kanye West combines his two recent collaborations with DJ Khaled , "I Wish You Would" and "Cold" , into one lengthy video directed by Hype Williams . Williams' trades in his fish-eye lens for very, very un-Steadicam shots of Yeezy in a narrow, graffiti-laced tunnel. Along the way, Rick Ross appears for his part on "I Wish You Would", and Kim K. cameos during "Cold". "I Wish You Would" appears on Khaled's new album Kiss the Ring, due out August 21st via We the Best Music Group/Terror Squad/Cash Money Records/Universal Republic Records. "Cold" was released as a standalone single by West, and is currently available via iTunes. (Consequence of Sound)
Reports of the Hype Williams-directed "Cold" music video heated up the Internet last month.
It's set to be a very "Cold" summer, if Kanye West has things his way. 'Ye joined DJ Khaled and Rick Ross in Miami over the weekend to shoot the visuals for Khaled's Kiss The Ring single "I Wish You Would," but he also knocked out the video for his solo track "Cold" while he was at it. MTV News was on set for the shoot and caught some behind-the-scenes footage of the three rap titans, who sported some of their finest gear for the Hype Williams-directed videos. Khaled and Ross were dressed in black with plenty of leather, dark sunglasses and jewelry to accent their wardrobes, while Kanye, not surprisingly, turned things up a notch by adding some red-and-white leather pants to the mix. A few weeks ago, Kardashian's ex-husband/Brooklyn Nets player Kris Humphries poked fun at Yeezy's "Cold" diss.
"I'm up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ "lucky I didn't have Jay drop me from the team" lol!," he tweeted July 17th. (Kris Humphries' Twitter)
In April, Brooklyn Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov stood up for Humphries in light of Ye's diss.
West, whose blossoming relationship with Humphries' ex-wife, Kim Kardashian , has been grabbing headlines, declared his love for the reality star on the track. The song, which leaked April 5, features a cheap shot at Humphries. "Lucky I ain't have Jay drop him from the team," West boasts on the tune, inferring that he has enough influence over Nets minority owner and buddy Jay-Z to affect Humphries' future with the team. According to the Nets' principal owner, however, West can't touch Humphries. "Kris has nothing to worry about," Prokhorov said. "I support my players, and I'm on his side in this epic battle." Although Hova has gotten a lot of press indicating that he's an owner of the Nets, his stake in the team is minuscule compared to Prokhorov's. The Russian businessman, who's back in town after a losing bid for president in his native country, paid $200 million for 80% of the NBA team in 2010. Jay-Z reportedly purchased a $4.5 million stake in the Nets in 2004. (New York Daily News)
