A few nights after Kanye West ignited New York City's PH-D Rooftop Lounge by unleashing some new tunes, DJ Reach has stepped forward to dish out some details on how the unexpected event went down.
According to Reach, Yeezy asked permission to premiere his records at the Friday (August 3) party.
"Kanye told me, 'Yo, I'm feeling it,'" Reach exclusively told XXL. "'I want to throw on some of my new sh*t. Can I go get my laptop?' I thought he was going to jump on and play some classics or whatever, but when he said he's going to play his own shit, I was like, 'Please...do that!'" Then, at around 1:45 a.m., Reach says Kanye started unleashing several new cuts, but only playing the instrumentals. "The first song he played had that Stardust 'Music Sounds Better With You' sample in it and the drums were bananas and he let the sample breathe...[singing] 'I feel like the music feels better with you,'" said an enthusiastic Reach, whose friendship with Kanye dates back to before Yeezy was in promotion of his College Dropout album in 2004, having even deejayed for his Glow In The Dark Tour after party. "It reminded me of some Watch the Throne sh*t." (XXL Mag)
He also discussed Ye's unleashing of the new "My Perfect B*tch" record.
"I heard the beginning to 'Hate Me Now' and I thought he was gonna drop Nas's sh*t, but in the words he started mouthing the words, "My perfect b*tch, my perfect b*tch" instead of 'Hate Me Now,'" Reach added. "He said something to the effect of, 'You know I always gotta have a bad chick.' That was his only track with words. He played 20-25 tracks, no joke. Instrumentals, no words." (XXL Mag)
West has since confirmed his new "Perfct B*tch" track is in reference to current girlfriend Kim Kardashian.
Kanye West has the perfect chick and he's not afraid to brag about it. After previewing unreleased music at NYC's PH-D Rooftop Lounge early Saturday morning ("around 1:30 a.m."), West took to Twitter to confirm one song in particular, reportedly named "Perfect B*tch," is about his girlfriend Kim Kardashian. "I wrote the song Perfect B*tch about Kim," 'Ye tweeted. (Billboard)
Last Friday, Ye unofficially premiered the record amongst others at the Manhattan club.
But the standout track of the night, according to our insider at the club and a source close to the mercurial rapper, was a song that included the chorus "My perfect bitch." Our second source says the song is about his current and former girlfriend. "(He raps) verses about his search for the perfect woman and how he has now found the "perfect b*tch,' " says the insider, adding that there are a number of descriptions in the song that reflect the looks of the curvalicious Kardashian and Rose. "The crowd was on their feet," says the first source. (New York Daily News)
