Brooklyn Nets basketball star Kris Humphries' parents are reportedly calling it quits by filing for divorce amid his own legal battle with separated wife Kim Kardashian.
According to reports, Humphries' mother got the divorce proceedings rolling earlier this month.
It's been a good year for lawyers who know the Humphries family. Son Kris has spent months paying his attorneys to slow his divorce proceedings down as much as possible, and now, his parents have decided to end their own marriage, which will keep at least two more litigators in business. The NBA player's mother, Debra, filed the paperwork earlier this month. It's unclear how Kris' father, William, feels about her decision, but regardless, she seems ready to move forward. All of this comes in light of Kris and Kardashian's current courtroom clash.
Kim Kardashian is telling close friends she is not pushing for a divorce so she can marry Kanye West -- she's saying Kris Humphries has simply become "a cancer" she wants out of her life forever. Sources connected with Kim tell TMZ ... after Wednesday's court hearing, Kim said, "Kris is the first person I ever had to break-up with and that f**ked with my emotions." She added, when their marriage started to fall apart "He told our producers he would destroy my career and me if the show wasn't edited right." (TMZ)
A few days ago, reports surfaced which claimed Humphries tried to subpoena Kim's boyfriend Kanye West with a Nordstorm package.
Brooklyn Nets baller Kris Humphries tried to pull a fake-out move on Kanye West, sending a deposition subpoena inside a Nordstrom box to Kim Kardashian's house, a lawyer revealed Wednesday. A "strange individual" showed up to Kardashian's southern California crib July 16 and proceeded to loiter for "two to three hours" asking for her famous rapper boyfriend, Kardashian's lawyer Laura Wasser told a judge Wednesday. The man eventually left a Nordstrom box that was found to contain the deposition request, Wasser said at a contentious hearing in Kardashian's ongoing divorce saga. (New York Daily News)
Kardashian and Humphries' legal teams began the legal war Wednesday (August 15).
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries? They got divorced months ago, didn't they? Uh, no. Technically, on paper, that marriage remains valid. Which is why, as noted in today's morning mix , a status hearing in their divorce case was scheduled to take place today in L.A. Superior Court. That hearing took place a short time ago.
