Rap Veteran's Son Headed To Jail For At Least Three Years, Details Revealed

According to reports, Grtis Ivey could still get hit with a ten-year jail sentence despite his plea agreement.

Coolio's son is about to go on the exact opposite of a fantastic voyage -- he's headed to prison for at least 3.5 years ... TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Ivey agreed to a deal earlier this week in which he agreed to plead guilty to a felony robbery charge ... and in exchange, prosecutors would drop the remaining four felony charges. Under the plea agreement, Ivey will serve a minimum of 3.5 years in prison (and a max of 10 years depending on how much time the judge believes he deserves). A judge will formally sentence Ivey on September 12. (TMZ)

Grtis Ivey, 22, the eldest son of rapper Coolio who appeared on the family reality show Coolio's Rules, is locked up in a Nevada jail after he and a Vegas hooker allegedly robbed a man at gunpoint. Ivey was arrested on November 14, 2011 for allegedly busting into a Vegas apartment with a gun and forcing the victim into the bathroom, while he and a female prostitute named Shantrice Wilkerson ransacked the place. Ivey is being held without bail and is due to face a judge on Monday. (Global Grind)

Back in 2010, Coolio caught heat for not living up to child support obligations.

A local child support agency in Los Angeles filed documents recently asking a court to order the "Gangsta's Paradise" rapper to pay $300 in monthly child support for his one-year-old son, Christopher Kal El Ivey Bellesi. But his baby mama, Anabella Bellesi, tells TMZ the child support crackdown is a necessary requirement. She says in order to apply for Medi-Cal for their son -- she must prove to the state that she has exhausted all her options. It's a good thing she has a backup plan. According to the filed docs, Coolio only earns $1,387 a month. (TMZ)

The rapper previously had a $10,000 bench warrant issued after he failed to attend a court hearing.

Rapper Coolio has escaped arrest after turning up for a court hearing on Tuesday - a day after a Los Angeles judge issued a bench warrant to have him detained. However, after showing up for the hearing on Tuesday, Coolio - real name Artis Leon Ivey, Jr. - escaped further action by proving he had adhered to the terms of his probation, including a drug rehab program.
