Maybach Music Group rapper Rick Ross has formally introduced the world to newly signed artist Rockie Fresh by remixing his "You A Lie" anthem.
Days after Fresh earned his MMG badge, the Rozay-assisted track hit the Internet.
Chicago's own Rockie Fresh is Maybach Music Group's newest signee, and it looks like they are already getting down to business as Rick Ross hops on Rockie's "You A Lie (Remix)." Check out a radio rip of their collabo below by clicking the link in Rockie's tweet, and stay tuned for more Rockie Fresh and MMG material to hopefully surface this summer. (Complex)
Earlier this week, the Chicago-based emcee delved into joining Ross' team.
"It was a crazy feeling man....I honestly did have good amount of offers on the table," Rockie explained. "Even though my situation is kinda under the radar, a lot of people took interest in the music from an industry point of view. I had some good looks, but nothing felt as real as the MMG situation. "Knowing how Ross is, being able to be around him, he's probably one of the best dudes to be working for," the Chi-town native added. "He makes it more so feel like you are working with him. It's one of those situations that felt real good to me. I feel we gonna make a lot of bread together down the line." (XXL Mag)
Ricky Rozay and Fresh broke the MMG signing news a few days ago.
Maybach Music Group's power circle just got a bit wider. Rick Ross has officially signed Chicago MC Rockie Fresh to MMG. Rozay made the announcement in the early a.m., via Twitter. "Everyone Welcome @rockiefresh to the@MaybachMusicGrp Family!!!!," tweeted the "So Sophisticated" rapper along with a pic of the signing. Rockie followed up with his own message, tweeting, "Salute to @RickyRozay for seeing my vision. We #RichForever #MMG." (Hip Hop Wired)
Last month, the 21 year-old rhyme spitter discussed putting together a new mixtape and his approach to music-making.
"It's called Electric Highway," Rockie told MTV News exclusively, revealing the title. "I always want to do original music even if it's a mixtape, so it's definitely a free album, but all of the records are going to be original. With me getting older and seeing different parts of the world, my content is always going to be evolving, so this is going to be the peak of Rockie Fresh. Out of all of the stuff that I've done, I think this is going to be my best work and I'm really looking forward to dropping it." (RapFix)
