Underrated: "He Made The Gorillaz What The Gorillaz Are"

[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name who they feel is the most underrated emcee in hip-hop. After Locksmith gave D.O.C. the title earlier this week, hip-hop writer Adam Bernard crowns Del the Funky Homosapien SOHH Underrated.]
I'm going to go all the way to the other side of the country for this and say Del the Funky Homosapien is my pick for SOHH Underrated.
I haven't really gotten the chance to be out in Cali other than Los Angeles, there's got to be a reason why people don't recognize him as much. His flow is incredible. His lyricism is nuts.
He made the Gorillaz what the Gorillaz are. Without his vocals, does anyone really give a crap about "Clint Eastwood?" He's just that dude who seems to end up behind the scenes even though he's behind the mic and I don't know how that happens.
When people are listing their Top 10 emcees and Del's not in there, I'm like, "Really? Have you heard him?" He's got a greatest hits album and it's actually filled with greatest hits. It's not just like a one-off from a label because they wanted to get rid of him.
He's just that dude to me.
