Ye has been rocking his sneakers for months now, spurring public demand. However, in this case, demand will surpass supply: Nike says it will only release between 3,000-5,000 pairs of the limited edition sneakers. The official release date for the Nike shoes is Saturday, June 9th, but fans have been lined up outside select retail locations across the country since last week. (Philly)
The luxury kicks will be an improved version of the original Air Yeezy's which dropped three years ago.
According to dresslikekanyewest.com, some retail stores will hold raffles for online customers. The Air Yeezy 2 is the second installment of the 2009 Air Yeezy. It's slimmer than the original, because it was designed to fit Kanye's narrow foot. The design was inspired by the classic 1980s basketball shoes, according to Nike's website. The shoes are available in two colors: platinum and black. (New York Daily News)
With an Air Yeezy 2 track currently buzzing online, anticipation has grown courtesy of rap stars like Jay-Z getting spotted rocking them.
In anticipation of the release of Nike's Yeezy 2?s this Saturday, Greg Street drops the aptly named "Yeezy's Bout To Come Out" featuring Bun B and G.O.O.D music signee Cyhi the Prynce. Talk about some free promotion. The Yeezy 2?s have long been anticipated by sneaker heads since the 2009 release of the Air Yeezy's. The first glimpse of the Yeezy 2?s was seen in the short film by Robert Rodriquez called "The Black Mamba". Kanye appeared in the film as The Boss wearing the first set of Yeezy 2?s. Since then various artists have been seen rocking the shoes including Jay-Z, Theophilus London, and one of the three men featured on "Yeezy's Bout To Come Out" Bun B. The track uses Kanye's "Runaway" as the beat and slows it down a little bit. It is a pretty nice track for promoting a shoe. If you cant afford the new Yeezy 2?s throw this track on as a substitute. A man can dream cant he? What do you think of the track? Would you buy a pair of Yeezy 2?s? (Stupid Dope)
