Written by SOHH for Shanell aka SNL

[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name who they feel is the most underrated emcee in hip-hop. After Kidd Kidd named the late Soulja Slim earlier this week, Young Money's Shanell aka SNL crowns Ryan Leslie SOHH Underrated.]

The most underrated artist that I listen to would have to be Ryan Leslie. I think Ryan Leslie is amazing.

He produces his own stuff, he writes his own stuff, he puts together his own video concepts and shoots his own videos. And he's like a one-man army over there. I don't understand why he isn't [bigger].

He can play any instrument. Anything. And I just don't understand why he's not, like, out there more than he is. But hey, I love him and I listen to everything he puts out. Actually, on my last mixtape, I did a remix of one of his songs called "Choose You." That just really touched me when I heard it and I went ahead and did a remix to it and he loved it.

If you haven't heard it, you've got to check it out. It's called "Choose You," Ryan Leslie featuring Shanell. When I say a one-man army, he can do anything and everything.

Hopefully if he has the time, I know he's really busy because being a one-man army you're really busy, but I want him to collaborate on my project. I would love to get some stuff from him and even if that could even boost him up from being underrated, if I could do anything to help him, I would do it.

Shanell aka SNL is a pop artist and songwriter. She is signed to Young Money and has worked alongside producers like Bangladesh, David Guetta, Salaam Remi, Cool & Dre, Hit Boy and Justus League. She has also collaborated alongside Young Money family including Lil Wayne and Drake. Shanell is currently putting together her long-awaited solo debut and is preparing the release of an upcoming EP called Nobody's B*tch. With ample creativity, an energetic live show, proven pen skills and an ever-growing base of fans across genres, Shanell is quickly making a game-changing name for herself and a refreshing new mark in music today.
