[Less than 24 hours away from movie mogul Eddie Murphy's A Thousand Words hitting the shelves, the Hollywood flick's co-star Cliff Curtis gives SOHH readers 5 Reasons to check out the new DVD.]

1. The Laugh Factory

The first reason is because Eddie Murphy's in it. He's got to be at the top of the list if you're an Eddie Murphy fan. I didn't do an audition. I was called in and I think they originally wanted Michael Caine or somebody like that and for some reasons that didn't work out and I got the opportunity. I was kind of excited about the idea of doing this role. I pitched a more comedic approach to the role and for some reason, the casting director really reacted to the energy and I got the job. But when I got down to the job, they didn't want what it was that I pitched. They didn't want the more comedic and goosey stuff, they wanted something more [subtle]. So we created that character. It was like a pretty normal casting.

2. Wonder Woman

Kerry Washington has to be somewhere in there. I think she's great. I think she's a very talented actress. I'm a fan. I could watch Kerry Washington act all day. She's great. She's got really good stuff.

3. The Ladies Man

The third reason is because my wife loves these kinds of movies. If you want a movie you can watch with your wife or girlfriend because they don't like action movies or horror movies, this is one of those light comedies.

4. La Familia

The fourth reason is because I think there are a lot of issues in the movie about values and the importance of family. I think this is sort of a big topic in the story, dealing with families and relationships. You're going to see Eddie's character recall his relationship with his mother, wife and son. If you like values, then you're going to like the story.

5. Bad Guy Gone Good

The fifth reason would be along the same lines. My favorite thing about the role is I often play bad guys and do lots of bad things so I thought it was fun to play a character that was dispersing self-knowledge, self-understanding and self-awareness.
