[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name who they feel is the most underrated emcee in hip-hop. After Cali Swag District's C-Smoove gave his own team the title, G-Unit 'femcee' Precious Paris crowns MC Lyte SOHH Underrated.]
>It takes four things to be a star: Personality, stage presence, great music and performance and MC Lyte has all of that.
MC Lyte is the reason why I'm even rapping. I used to emulate her raps until I discovered that I could do it too.
I think Remy Ma is underrated, too. I thought she was dope. I thought her lyrical skills were very dope. To be a female, I listened to her like she wasn't a female rapper.
But I think that she should have been bigger than what she was. And she might have been but I just think that commercially, she could have been really big.
There really is no particular track that makes me say someone's underrated. It's more the person's body of work. But with Remy Ma, I remember she did this one freestyle where she was on the basketball court and she was just going HAM.http://www.sohh.com/img/mc-lyte-2012-04-26-300x300.jpg
I admire that kind of stuff because I'm that artist that will go to the radio station and just go in.
Precious Paris is a Queens, New York rapper currently signed with G-Unit Records. Earlier this year, Paris released her debut EP entitled "From Paris With Love", which featured production by Rockwilder and the track, "Queens," and "Everything OK" with G-Unit head, 50 Cent.
