Exclusive: Memorial Day Melee: Music's Weekend Wars
Wednesday, May 30, 2012 8:00AM
It's gonna be a hot summer. Outside of album releases, rap concerts and award shows, things are looking to reach a boiling point among disgruntled rappers, singers, dancers and their rivals. This past holiday weekend is a prime example. Take a look at a few entertainment wars that kept us rolling all the way into the work week.
Pusha T. v Lil' Wayne
You know your comeback diss is wack when Birdman won't even rub his hands to it, but that didn't stop Tunechi from posting 90 seconds of self ether online this past weekend. Pusha T's "Exodus 23:1" diss, which was reportedly directed at Drake wasn't exactly "The Takeover," but he got his point across. In 2012, rap wars are not restricted to wax, or even the streets, as Twitter has become the official preliminary locale for feuding spitters to sling a lil' mud. Long story short: Wayne gave a huge "F*ck you" to Pusha on the popular social networking site, which prompted G.O.O.D. Music artist Kid Cudi to chime in on the ruckus. Cudi, who has remained relatively quiet since backing up his G.O.O.D. brother, is likely in a studio somewhere harmonizing his diss verse, just in case.
Meek Mill v Chris Brown
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Chris Brown may very well be the most dangerous n*gga in America. Don't let the somersaults and moonwalks fool you: That n*gga is like the black Bruce Banner -- just trying to make it through the day without choke-slamming people. Rihanna was at the center of this feud, which found the two artists taking some Twitter time to show how much they don't care about the "Birthday Cake" singer. Breezy says he doesn't care, Mill said he cares even less. Luckily, Tupac cares, if don't nobody else care.
"U took me off the song because she let me watch da throne!"(Meek Mills' Twitter)
"She's a dream chaser! There are alot of dreamers so she'll be running forever!(Chris Browns' Twitter)
Raz B. v Chris Brown
Yeah, so ex-B2K singer Raz B. got a story to tell: A very gay story. A story that allegedly involves a bunch of male singers he used to run with, and their experiences on the road. With other dudes. Raz is penning a homo-erotic tell-all, in which he claims he has dirt on Breezy and a few others.
