Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne's ex-wife, Toya Carter-Wright, has stepped forward to set the record straight in light of pregnancy gossip currently surrounding her.
According to Toya, a new photo of herself showcasing an obvious baby bump is over ten years old.
Toya Wright has been on Twitter long enough to know that posting a picture of a baby bump will cause people to assume you're pregnant! Wright was previously married to rapper Lil Wayne and has one child, 13-year old Reginae. She since remarried last year to A&R executive Memphitz Wright. Despite the picture making its rounds Toya admits to theybf.com that she did not post the picture and it's indeed old (13 years old??) - and she's not pregnant. This is why people should be more careful about posting pictures online - it's open to any and everybody - forever! (Dime Wars)
Speculation on the pregnancy rumors emerged online yesterday (April 30).
Lil Wayne's ex-wife Toya Carter is reportedly expecting a baby with husband Mickey "Memphitz" Wright. The 28-year-old is already mother to their daughter Reginae, for whom she and Young Money rapper Wayne share custody of. According to MediaTakeOut, Toya is currently four months pregnant with her first child with rapper husband Memphitz. The website claims to have been informed of the pregnancy for some time, but were unable to share the news until she had passed her first trimester. Toya is yet to confirm the news herself, but the site has posted photos of a woman resembling her stroking what looks like a baby bump. Congrats if true! (Tale Tela)
Last spring, Toya talked to SOHH about her daughter's relationship with Weezy.
"Yes, Reginae is very talented," Toya told SOHH. "She is very talented, smart and wise beyond her years. And I know Wayne feels the same way, that she's a star. [Her future?] It's really whatever she wants to do. She's been doing music with her dad lately. As long as she's doing what she has to do in school and making good grades, I'll support anything else." (SOHH)
Around April 2011, she opened up on her personal bond with the rap star.
"I'm not around him like that so I don't really know, but when I do see him he's cool. He seems like he's got his business mind on straight. He's been with his kids a lot lately. And that's all that matters, to me, is his relationship with his kids, his daughter. The rest is history." (VIBE)
