Ah. How I love album hype. Realistically, you can say nearly anything about an album no one has heard because ... well, no one's heard it. I've heard album's described as a "masterpiece," only to come out and end up as the barrier between my beer and my coffee table. With that said, there are a few album's I believe just may live up to the hype.

Jay Electronica's long-awaited debut, for example. Yeah, it's been a few years now. Yeah, alotta his buzz has died down. But something tells me that weird n*gga just may drop a gem. Maybe not a classic, but a solid LP. Roc Nation boss Jay-Z recently spoke on Elec's upcoming project.

During the interview, Hov said that he fully supports Jay Elec and that the album is "really close." "I love that, I want to support that sort of energy. I want people to be creative and not traditional, not just a single [at] this time, this time [and] this time," he said. "You know, he operates at his own time, but the album is really close."(MTV News)

I doubt it'll come out this year. But there's always 2013, right? Either way, Hov went on to praise Elec's lyrical prowess and says he is looking forward to seeing how the project connects with listeners.

He praised the project for its unconventional sound, and explained how his abilities are almost 'scary.' "It's exactly what it should be -- it's amazing. Him as a lyricist is almost scary. He's scary good," he continued. "I'm doing something to it that's really untraditional, so we'll see how it works."(MTV News)

Speaking of great rappers, for the past several years, I've considered Joe Budden (along with guys like Phonte and Elzhi) to be one of the most underrated MCs in the game, so it was interesting to see a tweet from him yesterday in which he, too, considered himself underrated.

"No rapper ever tweets about the fear of what they'll do w their life once the fans don't care about u... I got the greatest fans on earth ... Truth is I'm under paid, under rated & under everything else & I hate EVERYTHING about this game.. But the fans make it all worth while."(Joe Budden's Twitter)

Here at SOHH we often ask artists to tell us who they think is the most underrated in the game, today we'd like to ask you: What rapper, past or present, do you consider to be the most slept-on?
