[Each week, SOHH asks two entertainment personalities to name who they feel is the most underrated emcee in hip-hop. After Precious Paris gave MC Lyte the title earlier this week, producer J. Rawls crowns Wordsworth SOHH Underrated.]

Wordsworth (SOHH Underrated)

To be honest, I'm going to name someone from my circle and that's Wordsworth. I could come up with a whole bunch of people but Words is one of my favorite emcees.

He's such a wordsmith and he comes up with clever lines that nobody really knows or understands. You're trying to figure it out and then once you get it, you're like, 'Oh, I can't believe he said that.' Word is definitely one of the most underrated rappers to me.

If you really listen to the quality of the music, you'll see he should get more burns on the radio. I know it's not going to happen with major video [networks] and major radio [stations] but I think there's a lot of emcees that I would also put in there.

Words has been putting in a lot of works for a lot of years and he should be getting more attention. He should get a lot more recognition.

J. Rawls is a hip-hop, soul and neo-soul producer whose work crosses over into jazz. He has worked with Dose One, Beastie Boys, Slum Village, El Da Sensei, Count Bass D, Grand Agent, 9th Wonder, J-Live, Us3, and Moka Only. J Rawls is a graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors in Business, he is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, Alpha Alpha chapter.
