Pulse Report: 50 Cent Can't Stomach The Truth, Freeway Gets Dissed On Camera, Jay-Z Holds Down The Crown
Friday, May 18, 2012 12:15PM
In this week's Pulse Report, doggies, we find out what's got 50 Cent stuck in a hospital, watch Freeway get formally dissed on camera, applaud Jay-Z for stealing our attention and oh SOHH much more!

1. Came To Bring The Pain
Doggies, I've said this on numerous accounts. 5-0 Cent has lost my attention, my respect and now my utmost interest. It's to the point where we really have no clue on what's actually happening in his career. One day it's him pushing Street King, then he's doing the Dr. Dre headphones line, but then he's off filming movies and not before he announces some fradulent mixtape/album release dates. Just to tell you all how far left 5-0 has gone these days, when's the last time he did some stunt on a doggy? Honestly. Think about it too. Was it Rick Ross? Maybe Jay-Z? Diddy? Maybe he needs a doggy to beef with once again, could that be it? It seemed like his music was halfway decent when it was a matter of competition but now we see him hugging Lil Wayne in a boxing ring? SMH. If that wasn't bad enough, he's even gone as far as to tweeting out photos from a hospital bed. Really? REALLY!?!?!?
"I'm in the hospital but my gangsta grillz LOST TAPE is done so it will be out on time. http://lockerz.com/s/209485818," he tweeted Wednesday (May 16).
"I don't want to go into surgery. @FloydMayweather call my phone why your phone off http://lockerz.com/s/209486827"
"Do not do a @djdrama gangsta grillz this is all I get. Ain't this a b*tch. I give 15 tracks you give me this. http://lockerz.com/s/209491970" (50 Cent's Twitter)
^ And if that wasn't enough?
But no need to worry, doggies, 5-0 told us all that his
MIXTAPE, I mean, MEDICAL CONDITION, was under control:
"http://lockerz.com/s/209647830 I'm feeling better today I think I'm gonna get out of the hospital soon. EMINEM called me last night I love him that's my boy."
The worst part about this is I can't help but think it's all an attempt for 5-0 to get some more attention for this new Gangsta Grillz mixtape. I mean, we don't get a statement from G-Unit or even a 5-0 rep, but rather DJ DRAMA has to give doggies an update? HUH!?
Although 50 didn't disclose his ailment, DJ Drama confirmed to XXLMag.com that 'Fif was suffering from a "stomach virus." "First they wanted to keep it quiet, but he's not a quiet guy," said Drama about 50, who is collaborating with Dram to put out his The Lost Tape gangsta grillz mixtape on May 22. "He should be cool. It's nothing that serious. We still gonna do our promo run stuff [Thursday]." (XXL Mag)
^ I smell bogus-ness in the air. Y'all decide for yourselves. Real medical problems or can doggy not stomach the fact we're not checking for him?
2. My Way Or The Freeway
This is going to be brief, doggies. As much as I respect Jay-Z (he's literally my favorite rapper alive), he did the big doggy Freeway WRONG. W-R-O-N-G. Now as much as I would love to spill out all of my issues with what went down on Monday, I want y'all to see the footage first and then decide for yourselves.
Peep the 6:40 mark. Nothing else needs to be said doggies. DISSED!!!
3. Doggy of the Week: Jay-Z
Doggies, was it even a question that Jay-Z would be "Doggy of the Week" considering everything that's gone down over the past seven days? LOL. If you start with the fact Scarface can't even get Jay-Z on the phone anymore, then look at how Jay kept it gully NYC with the Brooklyn Nets logo, spoke up for President Obama and THEN proved he's still planning on dropping that Jay Electronica LP and got doggies shook saying he's falling back from music? LOL. Yeah, Hovi Hov got this past week on lock. Make 'em clap to this, doggies, Jay-Z has it on lock!
"We doin' songs, I got six, he got six," Scarface said. "It's a process that we go through to do this album." Face Mob finally found Sigel's number in his address book and called his rap buddy, who picked up on the first ring. "It's a reality now; you know our word is our bond. We said we gonna do somethin', we gonna do it." Uncle Face admits that he himself isn't in contact with Jay-Z and Kanye like he once was -- not that there's any beef, they just kind of lost touch. "I used to have everybody's number on speed dial like that," Face explained. "I hit Jay-Z, and Jay-Z pick up on the first ring. Now I might hit Jay-Z and I might not hear from him for two years," he said laughing hysterically at his own joke. "I used to call Kanye, Kanye pick up on the first ring, now Kanye don't even got no phone, that's how much times have changed." (MTV)
^ LOL. Plain and simple? Scarface isn't worthy of that time. Unless you've got booked shows and have a buzz, why would Jay clock in that time? Oh yeah, the fact he's doing an album with BEANIE SIGEL of all doggies might have something to do with the fact Jay isn't really getting up with him. LOL.
With this new Nets move, Jay-Z and Nets brass looked to the past in order to ensure the team's place in the future. Vintage New York transit system signage served as their chief inspiration. "It was really a take off the old subway signs, if you look at the old subway signs they were in black and white. It was that strong, beautiful, iconic black and white," Jay said. "I wanted to pick something that would stand the test of time and be here forever." (MTV)
^ As much as it hurts me to say this, being a Knicks fan and all, the new Nets logo is hard body. That all-black-and-white everything look is kinda trill. LOL. "Trill?" LOL. Forgive me doggies, had to bring it back to 2005 real quick. Anyway, I gotta give props to Jay for also saying he took inspiration from the subway trains. That's hot.
Rapper Jay-Z on Monday threw his support behind President Barack Obama's stance on legalizing same-sex marriage. The rapper, whose real name is Shawn Carter, said not allowing gay marriage was "holding the country back," in an interview with CNN's Poppy Harlow. "What people do in their own homes is their business and you can choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. [It] is no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination plain and simple," Jay-Z, a longtime supporter of Obama, added. (My Fox DC)
^ Put your personal differences to the side, doggies. Respect Jay for being a real doggy and just keeping plain and simple on this. He could have said "NO COMMENT" or just ignored it, but doggy did what so many RAPPERS are afraid to do....speak the truth. Give respect.
"I love that, I want to support that sort of energy. I want people to be creative and not traditional, not just a single [at] this time, this time [and] this time," Jay-Z told MTV News on Monday, when he was in Philadelphia to announce his two-day Made in America music festival. "You know, he operates at his own time, but the album is really close." But Jay-Z assures us that there is an album and that it's pretty damn good, if he does say so himself. "It's exactly what it should be -- it's amazing. Him as a lyricist is almost scary. He's scary good," Jigga gushed. "I'm doing something to it that's really untraditional, so we'll see how it works." (MTV)
^ LOL. To keep things nice and simple? BOSS STATUS!
Shawn " Jay-Z" Carter may be headlining and curating a two-day music festival, "Budweiser Made In America," this Labor Day in Philadelphia -- but don't expect any new music from the rap mogul and father of four-month-old Blue Ivy Carter any time soon. "I thought I would be more inspired to have all these new feelings to talk about, but I really just want to hang out with my daughter," Jay-Z told Billboard from the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum on Monday. "I want to enjoy this time for what it is. I'm sure that bug to get back in the studio will come back at some point." (Billboard)
^ Only a doggy like Jay-Z can say his kid is forcing him to fall back on making records and make the entire Internet go crazy. LOL. You gotta applaud that all day, doggies.
4. Mrs. Butterworth: Mia Sanchez
Doggies, for some reason, I am just now realizing that I could probably leave this entire post empty and y'all would not even notice. Well, let me clarify, I could leave the editorial aspect out of this section and y'all would be so interested in the featured Mrs. Butterworth that you wouldn't even notice the missing text until after the fact. So with that being said, enjoy the luscious Mia Sanchez.
^ Now don't get mad, doggies, but I could only find one gem based on Mia, so enjoy this video for what it's worth! LOL.
5. Doggies Say The Darndest Things
LOL. This past seven days has been crazy just off the strength of what your favorite rappers were talking about. Kim Kardashian playing "shy" about Kanye West when she's been pushing around his $500,000 whip and kissing him in public? Killer Mike saying he goes to those school meetings one night and then takes his wife to the strip club the next? LOL!!! But we might have a first in here, doggies. Game proved it was OVER with a triple-combo. Ne-Yo faking on biting Game, Game saying Magic Johnson needs to get a face tat and then Serena Williams getting the rap co-sign from......you guessed it, GAME! LOL!!!
"I don't know if I'm ready to talk about him," Kim said sincerely. "I feel like I've had such a hard time sharing my love life that now I'm a little bit more reserved on that." "For me, we've known Kanye for so many years and he's always been such a good friend to all of us," Khloé jumped in. "We've all been good friends with him. For me, I think friendships make the best relationships. Kim is so happy and is such a different person ... She crowd surfs now." "OK, enough, enough," Kim said to Khloé before her sister revealed too much. "No I love, it," Khloé persisted. "You're like a wild, crowd-surfing child and I love you."
"If I go all the way politicized, I become a zealot who's not allowed to have fun with the people and the community that raised me. But if I go the other way, I become an ignoramus who isn't properly qualified to speak on my community's behalf. Me and my girl go to the kids' school on Friday, then we go to the strip club Saturday night, and then we wake up and go to church Sunday morning, and we're back to business on Monday. That's my real life. At the end of the day, I'm a big black country motherf*cker! All of that's gonna come with me. [laughs] I can't be all Public Enemy and not embrace my 2 Live Crew. You'll always see me at a political rally and the black strip club; I'm gonna represent smoking weed and I'm gonna represent supporting Trayvon Martin on my record, because I'm a whole man."
R&B megastar Ne-Yo says he's NOT GUILTY of stealing the title of his upcoming album R.E.D. from The Game ... even though Game released his R.E.D. album last year. "No ... I don't feel like I ripped off The Game's album," Ne-Yo told us at LAX ... insisting he carefully selected the name of his album (which stands for Realizing Every Dream) because he felt it had a good fit ... not because he was trying to copy the rapper. FYI -- Game's R.E.D. album debuted #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. "Until The Game comes up to me and says he has a problem with it, I don't care what people think." ... Ne-Yo said. He also points out that he's not the first artist to inadvertently use another artist's album title -- "Jay-Z did The Blueprint and so did KRS-One."
"Yo, man. I was gonna recommend that Magic gets the same tattoo I have but just the blue star. I think that'd be so cool. I talked to [Dodgers star] Matt Kemp in the club a couple of weeks ago," Game said in an interview. "I even brought that up, that Magic should get a face tat. He was like, 'I don't know.' Hopefully, man. He's gonna see what he can do. I think it'd be dope. We'll see. It's Magic. Stars are affiliated with magic. Even at Disneyland, when Mickey wears the little magic hat, it's got stars on it. So what I'm saying is it might be a good look for Magic, man."
The Game thinks Serena Williams is an AMAZING rapper and if she decides to drop an album, it's sure to sell big ... this according to the man himself. Game tells TMZ ... after he heard Serena's rap for the first time, he knew that she definitely had "raw skills" and was a "really talented artist." Game says he wasn't that surprised ... considering the tennis champ's Compton roots. He tells us "You shouldn't expect her to come with anything less than the official rap bars," then added "I can see her doing big things."
***Doggies, it's officially weekend time and if y'all ever wanted a time to be baseball fans, then this is the time. INTER-LEAGUE play! Peep those National League teams dealing with the designated hitters. Promise y'all are gonna see some big homers. LOL. But if y'all don't get down with baseball, kick back and catch some ZZzzzz's before the hot summer weather gets here. Keeping it short and sweet, peep y'all doggies on Tuesday! --BB***
