BET's "106 & Park" co-host Terrence J is reportedly packing up his bags to leave the daily music video television series and become a new face on rival network E! News.
While merely speculation as of now, Terrence's days as the face of "106 & Park" are numbered.
Terrence J has landed himself a new gig. The media personality, born Terrence Jenkins, is leaving BET's 106 & Park in lieu of his growing acting career, and might become the newest co-host of E! News. Jenkin's, who co-stars in the comedy Think Like A Man, posted a photo with host Giuliana Rancic on his Twitter page, Thursday (May 24), and appeared on the program later in the evening. While he has yet to announce his official departure from BET, the proof is clearly in the pudding. BET is also keeping mum on whether or not he and Rocsi Diaz have thrown in the towel after seven years with the cable network. According to reports, Jenkins is doing a test run and may be hired based on whether or not the public responds well to his appearance on the nightly entertainment program. (Hip Hop Wired)
Recently, reports have circulated online claiming Terrence and "106 & Park" co-host Rocsi Diaz are both leaving the show.
According to the New York Post, the VJs want to leave BET in order to pursue their acting careers. Most recently, Terrence appeared in the hit romantic comedy Think Like a Man, which made $33 million on opening weekend. He also had a recurring role on "The Game" during its first season on BET. Reportedly Rocsi has landed a role on a film starring alongside Lynn Whitfield, and she appeared in Gang of Roses 2. Neither Terrence J nor Rocsi have commented on the rumors. (S2S Magazine)
Terrence recently talked about his days prior to joining the popular daily show back in 2005.
"At the time I was pretty much homeless, I was sleeping over peoples' houses, I stayed with my brother's friend on a cot in his basement for around two months. I didn't really have a place of my own for awhile...." At least for now, days of struggle appear to be behind the both of them. Although they are leaving 106 And Park , Rocsi will continue her nationally syndicated radio show Rocsi On The Radio while moving to California to peruse acting projects already in development. Terrence will also continue in his already growing acting career. (Cliz Beatz)
Despite the speculation, neither Terrence nor Rocsi have officially received their walking papers from BET.
GlobalGrind can exclusively report that it's just a rumor and the two have not been fired. Two inside sources at BET tell GlobalGrind, that this just a rumor. While they are in the last year of their contract, our inside source says they are not leaving the show. (Global Grind)
