G-Unit leader 50 Cent has revealed a brief conversation he had with Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa during a hospital stay earlier this week, promising fans can expect to hear them both on a record in the near future.

Fif claims Wiz first got his attention by reaching out to him through popular social networking tool Twitter a few days ago.

"While I was sitting in the hospital, I saw Wiz Khalifa send a tweet out saying he got something, and he felt like it would be cool if I was actually on a record with him," 50 said. "So I responded to him and I told him, 'Let's work.' I'm feeling good, I was feeling better by the time that tweet went through, so I said, 'Send it,' and I'll speak to him a little later on. ... Stay tuned to hear what happens next because it's gonna go down." (MTV)

Until the new collabo forms, fans will have to rely on Fif's upcoming new mixtape to hold them over.

"I'm back on the streets man, it's goin' down. Gangsta Grillz, the first Gangsta Grillz, it's been long overdue," 50 told Mixtape Daily on Friday while he was sitting in his G-Unit office in midtown Manhattan. On May 22 Fif is teaming with DJ Drama to drop The Lost Tape, a 13-track mixtape filled with murderous material. "I don't want to put too many joints on a tape where it overwhelms people and I don't like making Now compilations where I got so many people on it where you ain't sure you like it," he said of his formula. In late April, he talked about what makes a Gangsta Grillz project so special.

"I never really, on the mixtapes, reach out and put the people I needed to put on to make it feel like it was a different energy. It was me doing what I want to do, and of course, putting the artists around me on the tape to get them that exposure," Fif said in an interview. "This go-round, I said, 'Because it's Gangsta Grillz, it's an event for me! ... Gangsta Grillz is actually the biggest mixtape brand you can be associated with. Everyone else has lost the consistency." (Shade 45)

Recently, the platinum-selling rapper officially announced the project's initial release date.

"I just finished another joint off the lost tape I'm mixing tonight. Street king energy I'm up all night tonight baby. I'm getting it in #SK," he tweeted April 27th.
"Catch the first joint off my GANGSTA GRILLZ @djdrama getting ready to let it loose on his show. The lost tape"
"The LOST TAPE is coming out on the 15th. Nothing but heat watch how it shake things up. #SK" (50 Cent's Twitter)
