Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa proved his love for marijuana runs deeper than music after getting busted at a Nashville, Tennessee Holiday Inn last weekend for drug possession.
According to reports, Khalifa avoided jail and received a citation for his marijuana.
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, Metro Nashville Police responded to Wiz's room on April 21 after someone complained about a strong odor of marijuana. When officers arrived to the scene, Wiz -- real name Cameron Jibril Thomaz -- allegedly tossed a "marijuana cigarette" out of the window. Cops say the recovered the item ... saying, "inside the rolling paper was a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana." According to the report, Wiz eventually admitted the joint was his and said he had 3.7 grams of weed in his pocket. Wiz -- who's VERY open about his marijuana use -- was hit with a citation ... and probably smoked more weed after the officers left. (TMZ)
This week, Khalifa revealed his fiancee Amber Rose's stance on weed smoking.
"[Weed smoking?] She's like, 'Get it away.' She doesn't hate it, but she will not do it. She'll roll it, she loves how it smells... She just doesn't want to get high 'cause she don't want to feel that." (Hot 97)
Last summer, the rapper had drug-related charges dropped from a previous marijuana-possession incident.
Drug charges were dropped against a rapper who performed at East Carolina University because the charges were in error at the time of his arrest, the district attorney said Wednesday. All charges against the rapper and six others with him were dismissed when three of the men admitted the marijuana was theirs and pleaded guilty during an Aug. 11 hearing to misdemeanor possession, District Attorney Clark Everett said. Each of the three paid a $1,000 fine and court costs. "The magistrate or someone at that office must have misread the statute. We discovered the error maybe two hours after Thomaz paid the bondsman's premium and left. Because of that, it was a high price he paid for bringing the drug onto the campus. Had he remained to discover the error, he would not have been bonded so high, probably $1,000," District Attorney Clark Everett said. (Reflector)
Sticking to weed talk, Wiz previously offered his take on the "pothead rapper" stereotype.
"People can have their opinion, and I have been labeled as something," he says. "But it's not a problem. My message is way beyond smoking weed. That's just what I do. I'm about people embracing who they are, whatever they do and whoever they are. Fully embrace that." (Seattle Times)
