With his new No One Could Do It Better mixtape circulating online, SOHH decided to reach out to rap veteran Warren G to find out where his musical motivation to continuously release fresh joints, stems from.
Already a respected OG in hip-hop, Warren says the mixtape was born through an opportunity presented to him through a deejay collective .
"Well actually I was approached by the three deejays [DJ Prfluent, Klassik and DJ Ace]. They hit me like, 'Warren, we want to do a mixtape on you,' and they're just doing it, putting it together and I was like, 'Let's do it.' They wanted to put together a mixtape of a lot of my songs that people may have heard or may not have heard and put it on the mixtape just to remind people of just what it is that I do and what I contributed to the music game. Along with that, I have a lot of new music coming. I've got the Nate Dogg and Warren G EP that's going to be dropping soon. The new single is coming soon. I have a lot of EPs coming up. I'm into doing EPs because I'm not trying to just do thirty to fourty-five songs. I'm going to give you five or six smashes that you can grow with. I want to enjoy it. Maybe every month and a half, or maybe every two months, I'm going to put out new music for everybody just to kick back and relax to." (SOHH)
The new mixtape features nearly twenty records, including a slew of collaborations.

Warren is planning an upcoming collaborative EP featuring late rhyming partner and original rap crooner, Nate Dogg, in the coming weeks.
"It's pretty much done," Warren G told XXLMag.com. "I might drop it April 17 right after our first Coachella show. If not, by mid-May or June. Sh*t...I might decide to go hard virally with it." Whenever fans do get their hands on it, Warren promises a full blast of G-Funk. "It's that genuine G-Funk sound that we're missing," Warren said. "I just to give people that real music again and tell people that ain't nothing changed. Nate is still here. I got to keep my boy alive." The five-song EP's first single is called "A Party We Will Throw Now," which pairs Warren with Game and has Nate blessing the hook, as he's done on so many choruses throughout his career till his untimely death due to complications of multiple strokes last year. Recently Warren G came through for a surprise performance with fellow West Coast star, The Game.
You'd be forgiven for thinking that all of Hip-Hip's elite were in Austin, Texas, over the weekend performing and/or doing other things down at the SXSW festival, however Game, one of the genre's most controversial emcees, was on the road continuing to spread the good word of his U.S. #1 LP, The R.E.D. Album. During his set at L.A.'s Key Club, the rapper brought out close associate and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker to perform their 2008 track "Dope Boys." Later during the concert, veteran West Coast rapper Warren G joined Game onstage to pay homage to the late Nate Dogg with a performance of the timeless "Regulate." (Soul Culture)
