Grammy-winning producer Timbaland recently dished out his admiration toward rap mogul Jay-Z and how much he wants to do a full-length project alongside Young Hov.
For Timbo, linking up with Jay would force him to step up his production skills.
"Jay cool. Jay's a family man. My dream is to do a whole album with the dude. That's my goal. I pray on that. I know what it could be," Tim said in an interview. "Even if we didn't put it out, it would be fun. It would push me somewhere I've never been as a producer. Since Jay had his child [Blue Ivy Carter], I haven't really talked to him lately. I sent him gifts for his daughter. When you're married, it's a different life -- We went from a Range Rover to now. This dude is an icon." (Power 105.1)
Back in 2009, Tim caught heat after his Blueprint III-produced tracks began leaking online.
"Let me tell you something," Timbaland told radio personality Ed Lover, "me and Jay-Z are great friends. It's going to be times of miscommunication, that's between any friendship, real friendship is always gonna be miscommunication so what trips me out is how they got into it when we only talked about it. So I called like, 'Is somebody tapping our phones?' When we talked, he said, 'Dawg, I don't get it. This world is crazy.' So what happened was, when I was working, a lot of my music got leaked too. So music started getting leaked and I'm like but I told him I didn't understand that when we were doing a record it was mixed a certain way. I didn't understand why they wanted us to do it that way, send it MP3's to his engineer, evidently, people was getting it and we didn't know. Nobody knew and as it was going through, I guess somebody hacked through his engineer's computer, well, my engineer's computer and just got us...And whoever got us tried to put it on me, like make me sabotage him." While the award-winning producer keeps Jay at the top of his wishlist, Hov's sound engineer Young Guru recently updated fans on a possible Watch the Throne 2 joint LP.
""It's definitely a serious consideration. Hasn't been underway yet but definitely serious consideration. Has been talked about but hasn't been executed yet. Definitely could happen. A lot of artists just say sh*t too but if you think about it, this is just my opinion, the way I would like it to go-I would like Kanye to do the G.O.O.D. Music album and Jay-Z to do a solo album then they go out and tour and do all that sh*t and then next year, or the end of the year, we get Watch the Throne 2. To me, that would be the best thing to happen. I think the G.O.O.D. Music album is necessary for Kanye to establish that brand because they need to establish [themselves]." (Complex)
A few months ago, Jay-Z hinted at the possibility of a second WTT album.
"It depends on how this thing finishes up," Jay said in reference to his and Kanye's current Watch the Throne Tour. "We -- I say 'we' because I'm in Throne mode -- we're in a great place creatively. You might see a Jay, then Kanye and a Throne album next year. You know, we're really in a great place creatively. We really found our zone." (MTV)
