Video vixen Rosa Acosta has revealed plans to pencil in a "retirement" date, ending a brief run in the urban modeling world to focus on bigger and better things.
For the twenty-something year-old, her days of being an urban model are on the verge of ending.
"I have had the opportunity to work with so many people including one of the best photographers in the world, Terry Richardson. Actually a good friend of mine Vanessa Veasley, I was the one that sent her stuff to Supreme and they loved her," Rosa said in an interview. "It's an honor to bring two darker skinned girls to Supreme. They are amazing. I'm working with Pink Dolphin and a few other companies. I'm happy that I've been able to do all of these things. I'm about to retire from all of the urban modeling because we get old." (The Well Versed)
If all goes accordingly, Acosta sees herself focusing more on fitness and Spanish television.
"It's really easy in this business to spend ten years doing the same thing and not branch out. So in order for me to branch out I have to stop doing this and focusing on some other ventures. I'm not just going to quit totally, but little by little. But I think that this will be my last year doing the sexy shoots. I'm going to focus on fitness and Spanish TV." (The Well Versed)
Recently, former video vixen Esther Baxter talked to SOHH about her past modeling days.
"I haven't done urban modeling for six years now, or videos, and yet I'm still a household name. A lot of people still know who Esther Baxter is and they still know, "Oh yeah, she was one of the top ones a lot of girls look up to." They know all of that and so I've been able to keep that name and image even though I haven't done the modeling or music videos like I used to for awhile outside of recently doing the KING magazine cover. The reason we ended up doing that is because there was such a high demand of people from the fans that wanted to see me. They really wanted to see me on the cover of KING. Other than that, I've really fallen back to focus on my career, my family and my son. I have a four year-old son now and my focus is really getting into acting." (SOHH Guest Star)
Back in 2010, Rosa opened up on her battle with anorexia and bulimia.
"Nevertheless, "all the qualities" became "almost all" when at my 13 years old I weighed 125 pounds, which made me undergo bulimia for two years and anorexia for like seven years," she revealed. "When I remember about those days, I merely can't understand what went through my head. The image that I used to see reflected on the mirror was more of a monster than of a young girl. I was in a state where nothing was more important to me than to "look good" and if that meant to be sick I wouldn't care...No one has detested me so much that wish to do as much damage to me as the one I did to myself by taking my body to the extreme, exaggerating the physical workout, not eating or drinking fluids for days, taking laxatives and punishing myself in any possible way...One day I thought I was worthless. Today I am at ease with myself and I have learned that to feel loved and to be accepted is something that needs to start with yourself. You are only one step away from being in the best physical state of your life! What are you waiting for??" (VIBE)
