Grammy-winning singer Rihanna took after her ex-boyfriend/singer Chris Brown by ending a one-on-one early after getting hounded about her love life during an interview this week in Australia.
According to reports, tensions flared after RiRi was asked about her acting career.
"[It's] very frustrating," Rihanna said, looking annoyed. "Almost as frustrating as being asked about it." "Yeah, you don't like going there?" the reporter asked in a diplomatic way. "I mean, what's the point?" Rihanna responded. "Well people are interested in you, you're a big star," the reporter added. "They are. And they're interested in a lot of things -- a lot of things that don't matter," said a visibly irritated Rihanna. "Or shouldn't." The reporter added in voice-over at the end of the piece that the interview abruptly ended after Rihanna's last comment. (MTV)
A similar incident happened last month when she was confronted about dating rumors involving her and actor Ashton Kutcher.
At a London press conference for "Battleship," a reporter used her one question with the pop star to ask about the alleged rendezvous. After meandering around about Ri's fans and their love for her, she eventually got to her point: Would she get any visits from Kutcher while out promoting the film? The singer's response? Well, she wasn't amused. "Wow, how disappointing was that question," she said in a video posted on the website. "I'm happy and I'm single, if that's what you're really asking." (MTV)
A week prior, reports suggested RiRi and Kutcher had been an item for months.
"The flirting began as soon as Rihanna and Ashton met and swapped numbers," a source tells The Sun. "That moved on to texts and arranging to meet. They snuck off to a Santa Monica hotel a few weeks ago. They are two single people having a fling, so thought it would be best to meet in secret. Rihanna has told friends he's funny and cute. Both of them love a good time and think they're too busy for anything serious just yet. She's starting to enquire about Kabbalah sessions with his rabbi." (Lime Life)
A few weeks ago, she detailed her status as a single woman.
"I'm not looking, [but] I would not tell you that [being single] is something to enjoy. Single life is just so overrated. It sucks. You always want to be single when you're in a relationship, but it's no bueno," she tells Jonathan Ross. As for why the beautiful pop star wants to find a man sooner rather than later, Rihanna reveals, "I think that I have such incredible experiences that, you don't want to live your life and meet someone; you want to share your life with someone. That's what I'm missing right now." Rihanna's list of things she's looking for in a man isn't a long one; in fact, it's quite simple: "I'd love to date someone cool, fun ... funny." (RumorFix)
