Florida rapper Plies has gone the extra mile to pay tribute to slain teenager Trayvon Martin by releasing a music video for his "We Are Trayvon" anthem.

The new music video premiered online Thursday afternoon (April 12).

Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic recording artist Plies has joined the numerous public figures who have paid tribute to 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, with a YouTube video titled "We Are Trayvon." The track, which was produced by Filthy Beatz, was released via the Miami-native's YouTube page earlier this month, and is now available at all digital retailers. What's more, 100% of the profits of single sales of "We Are Trayvon" will be donated to the Justice For Trayvon Martin Foundation. Plies hopes that the release of "We Are Trayvon" will contribute to the growth of the Justice For Trayvon Martin Foundation and other organizations that are dedicating their efforts to remove elements of judgment while uplifting young black men in the eyes of the general public, as well as assisting other families that are suffering from similar situations as the parents of Trayvon Martin. Plies also hit up Twitter to announce the music video's release.

"My GIFT to the Trayvon Martin's Family!!! View here:," he tweeted April 12th. (Plies' Twitter)

The Southern rapper first put out his emotional tribute track a few weeks ago.

Over a somber beat and piano flourishes, Plies weighs in on Martin's death by lamenting that trying to live right can still get you in unnecessary trouble. "I never thought wearin' no hoodie could cost you your life/And I never thought you could just kill somebody and get out the same night," Plies raps, referring to the piece of clothing Martin was sporting when he was killed. He later adds, "What's right is right, what's wrong is wrong/Trayvon Martin, you'll forever live on," and on the spoken-word outro, the rapper pictures Martin playing football in heaven, with a "solid gold football." "We Are Trayvon" was released to iTunes on Wednesday (Mar. 28) after premiering over the weekend. The track is now on sale for $1.29. (The Juice)

His visual comes a day after shooter George Zimmerman was charged with second-degree murder.

George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, faces a second-degree murder charge for shooting Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black teenager in Sanford, Fla., the special prosecutor in the case announced Wednesday. In a televised news conference, State Atty. Angela B. Corey outlined the charges in the case that has sparked national demonstrations calling for Zimmerman's arrest. "I can tell you we did not come to this decision lightly," Corey told reporters. "We do not prosecute by public pressure." She said her office had filed information with the charge. Zimmerman, who has maintained he acted in self-defense, was in custody, Corey confirmed, though she gave no details. He had been in hiding since the shooting after his family said he had received death threats. (Los Angeles Times)
