Former Cash Money Records producer Mannie Fresh recently opened up on his respect for rap star Kanye West and why G.O.O.D. Music may be one of the hottest hip-hop collectives out right now.

In Fresh's eyes, Ye's ability to pick the right talent has made G.O.O.D. Music stand out.

For Mannie, the most impressive part of his experience working with West has been the wealth of talent on the artist's burgeoning roster. "There are so many talented people that are on G.O.O.D. Music that it's nuts," Fresh glows. "You have so many people that you are working with that it's unlimited. I can't say what it's structured around. It's more so a music factory. It's like, hey, everybody that walks through those doors play Kanye something. If he likes it they give it to him. It's as simple as that." (VIBE)

A few weeks ago, the platinum-selling producer downplayed G.O.O.D. Music signing rumors.

"Well, we working that out. I'm kind of funny about signing with people. Dude, I've been through so much," Mannie said in an interview. "And I'm not saying I think Kanye is a bad person, but I can't tell you what that is right now. It's really on me, and what space I'm in. I'm not saying that I wouldn't do it, but it's gotta be something that makes sense for me." (HHDX)

Last month, Fresh offered his take on the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation album.

"The cool thing about G.O.O.D. Music is it's a bunch of great ideas," Mannie said in an interview. "I'm one of them ideas. So some songs do go through that cycle. Some songs get to me like that where they'll sayd, 'Hey, see what you can do to this song. Hey, see what you can add to this song.' So it's a good opportunity, it's a good thing. [Kanye West] is trying to find the most talented producers, the most talented artists and put them all in a room and say, 'Go for it.' It's all energy. ... In hip-hop history, when have we ever got along? It's a cool thing, we're sitting at the table, all of us get along on one accord, making good music. ... It's pretty close, it's pretty close, I would say it's pretty, pretty close to being, you know, [finished.] Like I said, the songs are phenomenal, everything. It's an album that's all over the place. It's not just one thing." (MTV)

Back in late January, Ye's artist Hit-Boy provided a small update on the project.

"I was in London for a week. It was my first time in London. Those were actually the first sessions of the G.O.O.D. Music album. I worked with my G.O.O.D. Music family and met some nice young ladies. [Laughs.] It was amazing. I did a whole bunch of stuff when I was up there," Hit-Boy revealed. "Mannie Fresh was [in the studio with us], Pusha T was there, Big Sean was there, [Kanye West] was there obviously. Marsha Ambrosius, Frank Ocean, Jay Electronica, and John Legend all came through. We all vibed and made amazing music. [I don't know if Jay Electronica spit a verse], I was just in my room working on a bunch of ideas Kanye wanted me to do. I really didn't get to come up there. But Pusha spit a gang of verses to my beats, so did Big Sean, Kanye, and John Legend." (Complex)
