News: Kanye West's 'Theraflu' Producer Speaks Out, "People Just Needed To Hear It"

With rap star Kanye West heating up the Internet this week courtesy of the new "Theraflu" record, producer Hit-Boy has stepped forward to reveal how he pieced it all together.
While the beat was composed earlier this year, Hit-Boy said Yeezy just recently put his vocals together.
"I made that beat a couple months ago, just in a session messing around," the Surf Club member told XXLMag.com. "I had sent the beat to Khaled, and Khaled, he sent it to 'Ye. 'Ye just did the record maybe a week and a half ago. We actually don't know if it's going to be on Khaled's album or 'Ye's album. We just put it out because we felt like it was so urgent, people just needed to hear it. Obviously, the proof is in the pudding. That joint is everywhere now." (XXL Mag)
The G.O.O.D. Music producer also offered his take on its post-release.
"I just always want my stuff to sound fresh; I want it to sound big," he continued. "I really like the snare. I feel like this is the new snare that people haven't really heard on conventional club records, so when you hear this joint in the club, it's going to be fresh to the ears, and that's what I'm always looking to bring." Ye's newest track shows him opening up on his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose and rumored new wifey Kim Kardashian.
After reporting that Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music crew would drop their "Mercy" single on Friday (April 6), Funkmaster Flex has gone ahead and premiered a different track from the project. It's called "Theraflu" and features Kanye rapping over a synthy Hit-Boy beat alongside DJ Khaled. Compared to the grandiose statements we're used to from Kanye, this is definitely a more standard rap track. Yeezy calls himself "Swag King Cole" and then gets into brag mode. The song also features the following Amber Rose/Kim Kardashian-referencing lines that will surely hit every trashy celeb blog tomorrow: "The whole industry wanna f*ck your old chick / The only n*gga I got respect for is Wiz / And I'll admit I fell in love with Kim / Right around the same time she fell in love with him." (Exclaim)
Initially, the track was believed to be off Yeezy's upcoming G.O.O.D. Music compilation album.
Earlier today Pusha T took to Twitter to announce that "Mercy," the first single from the upcoming G.O.O.D. Music album would drop this Friday. But, just a few minutes ago, this track popped up online. Titled "Theraflu," this new song from Kanye West and DJ Khaled is apparently the album's first single. So, either Pusha T was wrong, the internet is wrong or Yeezy just decided to give us an early treat. Either way, I'm sure we'll still get to hear "Mercy" on Friday and I'm sure that "Theraflu" is indeed off of the G.O.O.D. Music album. (We Got This Covered)
