Former Ruff Ryders member Eve recently spoke on what five female emcees she would most want to link up with on a record, ranging from veterans like Missy Elliott to newcomer Azealia Banks.
She also revealed how Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill would be a wishlist collabo.
"Lauryn Hill has always been my one dream collaboration. She to me is so dope lyrically. Unfortunately, she's just in a place right now mentally, but that would be a dream come true," she said in an interview. "[Five female emcees on a record?] I would definitely have to get Missy. I would definitely have to do [Lil] Kim 'cause I never got to do a record with Kim. Azealia Banks, I like her. A lot of people want me to hate on Nicki [Minaj] and say crazy things about her. I ain't got nothing to say about her. Until somebody names me by name, then I don't feel like nobody [is talking] about me. I wouldn't have a problem putting her on a record." (Women of Hip Hop)
Back in 2010, Eve downplayed speculation of her competing against Nicki Minaj.
"Trust me, no one's competition for me and that sounds cocky but I seriously live in such an Eve world. And not in a crazy-everything-is-me-bubble, it's just that I'm bulding an empire. I go on Twitter and people say 'Yo, knock Nicki Minaj out of the box, but ultimately we're all helping each other and I'm happy seeing these chicks in the game. It's too much testosterone. When I see another female, my immediate reaction is not 'Oh I gotta go and get my sh*t right.' I got 900 other things going on. I can't keep worrying about what's coming up behind me." (VIBE)
Outside of female emcees talk, Ruff Ryders CEO Joaquin "Wahh" Dean recently talked about a reunion run kicking off in the near future.
"Everybody's on deck. It's just that we're making sure all of the schedules are intact," RR co-CEO Joaquin "Waah" Dean told MTV News. Dates are still being finalized, but Dean confirmed that he expects the tour to start between March and April. The plan is for the crew to begin their run overseas and then come over to the U.S. "We gonna take it nice and slow. We ain't gonna do like how we used to do, 30 or 40 cities; we not gonna go that far just yet," he said. "We gonna take it slow. Do a nice little five to 10 joints overseas and then some dates on this side just to build the momentum and have some fun with it." (MTV)
Rapper DMX initially broke the news of an RR reunion tour in mid-January.
It's official ... DMX and his legendary rap crew Ruff Ryders are getting back together -- in fact, X tells TMZ, a blowout reunion tour is already in the works. Ruff Ryders first lady Eve told us this weekend to expect a massive comeback -- but X says the RR reunion is already underway ... with CEO Waah Dean currently booking several venues across the country. The tour is supposed to kick off in a few months -- and X tells us, the entire crew's already on board, including Swizz Beats, Drag-On, and Murda-Mook. According to DMX, Eve and The L.O.X. haven't signed on yet -- but that's just because he hasn't gotten in touch with them yet. X insists, that will change very soon. X tells us, "We are all family and we're going to come back stronger than when we left ... It's going to take the nation by storm." (TMZ)
