Wednesday, Apr 11, 2012 11:25AM
Grammy-winning rapper Eminem and Dr. Dre may not be reuniting on-stage this weekend as a Warren G rep has come forward with a statement denying remarks made this week which suggested otherwise.
According to a statement issued to all media outlets, Warren never meant to announce an Eminem/Dr. Dre Coachella performance.
"Warren G is not announcing that he and Eminem will perform with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. Warren had no knowledge that any such announcement was being made until after it was posted. Any postings involving him and other artists were made without his knowledge or consent and he is not willing to confirm or deny anyone's involvement in this years Coachella event. We apologize for any confusion that this caused." ~ Domenick Nati (Nati Celebrity Services) [sic] (Statement)
Reports claim a message announcing the hook-up appeared on Warren G's website this week.
Eminem, Warren G and Daz Dillinger are heading to Coachella, according to Warren G's official site. "Dr. Dre will perform at the 2012 edition of the annual Indie festival 'Coachella' in the desert. The good doctor will perform with all times friends Snoop Dogg, Daz Dillinger, Warren G & Eminem," the MC's site announced in a post that was removed by Tuesday evening. "Kendrick Lamar will also be here to perform their new single 'The Recipe.' Y'all ready to feel the wrath of the Aftermath ? Let's gooo!!" (Billboard)
Shortly after the story broke, a link to Warren G's post reportedly vanished.
Warren G has announced that he and Eminem will perform with Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at the duo's headlining set on the third night of the Coachella festival (UPDATE: the link has been removed from Warren G's website since this story was published). Kendrick Lamar and Daz Dillinger are also confirmed to perform as part of Dre and Snoop's set, and Rolling Stone has learned that Wiz Khalifa will also make an appearance. It is unclear whether or not all of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's guests will appear at both of their Coachella appearances, as the duo are set to headline on April 15th and 22nd. There is some possibility that the shows will vary somewhat, and that other guests may be announced later, or appear on stage without notice. (Rolling Stone)
Although Em is no longer confirmed, fans can still expect to see Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at this weekend's festival.
The Black Keys, Radiohead, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg will headline two weekends of concerts at The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Organizers of the Indio, Calif., music festival on Monday announced a dizzying list of top musicians who are slated to perform over two long weekends, April 13-15 and April 20-22. The six-day concert schedule marks the first time Coachella is to extend over two consecutive weekends. (New York Daily News)
