News: DJ Khaled Addresses Rick Ross' Health Condition, False Seizure Gossip
Monday, Apr 23, 2012 1:00PM
Miami's DJ Khaled recently discussed Maybach Music Group leader Rick Ross' health condition and why fake seizure reports continue to irritate him.
While he understands the entertainment industry is keen to rumor mills, health scares are a topic Khaled does not find funny.
"He's good. It irritates me in the game sometimes how people will throw rumors out there about health issues. You don't play with health issues," Khaled said when he appeared on"RapFix Live." "He had that one situation and he's been great from that day. Actually I think he's healthier, because it was a wake-up call for all of us." (MTV)
Earlier this month, Ross made headlines for reportedly experiencing a medical scare.
And now it's been revealed by a promotion company in Guyana, where Rozay was set to perform yesterday, that he canceled his concert there because of a "medical emergency." Here's a portion of what Hits and Jams Entertainment released in a statement: "His management has given an undertaking that once he is cleared by doctors they are willing to work on an alternative date for the Guyana show." If this ends up being true, we certainly wish Rozay the best in his recovery. (Complex)
Following multiple seizures last fall, Ross previously nixed a few live concerts in October.
Ross's Saturday night (October 22) show in Los Angeles has been rescheduled to January 2012. The promoters of the show tell TMZ that the decision to move the gig was a mutual agreement by both parties. "Pushing [Ross] to do a show that he was not prepared to do was not beneficial to anyone," the promoters admit. The "B.M.F (Blowin Money Fast)" rapper has also backed out of a homecoming performance at Georgia State University, which was set for Friday (October 21). (BET)
In December, the rap star's medical emergency kit was brought to light.
Rick Ross will not be caught off guard in case he suffers another medical emergency -- the rapper now travels with his own special medical kit, just in case the seizures strike again ... TMZ has learned. As TMZ first reported, Ross suffered not one ... but two seizures on the same day in October while traveling to an event. According to multiple sources, Ross wants to make sure he's prepared in case it happens again ... and put together a kit that includes 3 different prescriptionmedications, vitamins, water and an inhaler. We're told Ross is serious about having the kit near him at all times ... and often requires a member of his entourage to carry it around wherever he goes. (TMZ)
