Pretty cool to see Hip Hop artists being invited to speak at distinguished institutions of higher learning. From Bun B, to 9th Wonder ... and yes, even The Based God recently spoke at NYU, rap artists are being asked to share their thoughts with America's next leaders more and more.

Banner, one of the most outspoken artists in the game, will be reflecting on the LA riots, which took place two decades ago.

On April 27 and 28 Harvard University will be hosting "The LA Riots: Twenty Years Later Conference," and rapper and producer David Banner is scheduled to make an appearance. The purpose of the conference is to look back at the LA riots, and to see where we as a society are at today as a result of the riots. The Conference will include leading scholars, activists, and artists examining the riots and how they reflect on discrimination and democracy today.(MTV)

The Mississippi spitter will be accompanied by various speakers hailing from various parts of the country.

The rapper/producer will be joining Henry Louis Gates Jr. and panelists from Harvard University, New York University, Temple University, and more. Banner, who has been extremely vocal about black social issues, will be discussing his opinion on the safety of black youth and the legislation he believes to be necessary to help keep black youth safe in America.(MTV)

In other news ... Tyler the Creator is up to his usual mischief. This time, the Odd Future rapper staged a kidnapping ... along with MTV. After appearing as a victim on the show Punk'd, Tyler flipped the script on a U.K. boyband.

After getting pranked himself, Tyler, The Creator turns his attention on a few new victims. After Bam Margera pulled a fast one on Tyler, The Creator, the tables turned during last night's episode of MTV's "Punk'd." The Odd Future ringleader set up elaborate pranks for The Wanted, Scott Disick and Shenae Grimes, orchestrating fake situations that put each victim in precarious situations.(Hip Hop DX)

Funny how a random young girl mysteriously appearing in the back of your van against her will can cause such a fuss.

For U.K. boyband The Wanted, Tyler created a situation where the group was accused of kidnapping after a young girl somehow ended up in the back of their van following an interview. When Tyler got Punk'd, he was blamed for an explosion that occurred at a food vendor truck.(Hip Hop DX)

SOHH Watcha Think: Which new artist would you like to see pranked, and are you checkin' for the return of MTV's Punk'd?
