Former Roc-A-Fella Records artist Beanie Sigel can breathe a sigh of relief as sentencing for his federal tax violation case has been pushed back to mid-summer.

According to reports, Sigel will have his fate read to him in July.

A sentencing hearing on federal tax charges for rapper Beanie Sigel was postponed Thursday. Defense attorneys Fortunato Perri Jr. and Mark Cedrone told U.S. District Judge Jan DuBois on Wednesday that Sigel had not provided the financial information a probation officer requested or allowed a home visit by the officer. DuBois rescheduled sentencing for July 12. (Philly Tablet)

Reports claim Beans could face up to 36 months in the slammer.

Sigel, whose real name is Dwight Grant, is awaiting sentencing for failing to file income taxes for tax years 2003, 2004 and 2005. Federal prosecutors are seeking the maximum sentence of three years. Sigel entered his plea Tuesday in federal court in Philadelphia.U.S. prosecutors say he owes about $350,000 on $1 million of unreported income. But defense lawyer Fortunato Perri Jr. plans to challenge those calculations. (The Republic)

Back in 2010, Sigel's financial woes hit the Internet in the form of tax debts.

Rapper Beanie Sigel (SEE'-gul) is facing criminal charges for alleged tax fraud. Federal prosecutors in Philadelphia say the entertainer born Dwight Grant made $1.5 million from 2002 to 2004, but filed no tax returns. The tax charges come in a federal information filed Wednesday. That typically indicates a defendant's cooperation. Sigel's lawyer did not immediately return a call for comment. (Associated Press)
