G-Unit head 50 Cent is planning some time away from the recording booth with reports claiming he has been cast to star in the upcoming Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger film, The Tomb.
As details come together, fans can expect Fif to share camera time with a few other Hollywood stars.
After working together on Lionsgate's crime pic "Fire With Fire," Vincent D'Onofrio, Vinnie Jones and 50 Cent will reunite on Summit's action-thriller "The Tomb," which has also cast Oscar nominee Amy Ryan as its female lead. Mikael Hafstrom is directing the film, which stars Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, as well as Jim Caviezel. (Variety)
While the rap executive will be in the film, his role currently remains unknown.
The trade reports that Amy Ryan will take the female lead role in the action movie, where she will play as Stallone's business partner and potential love interest. Vincent D'Onofrio will play as the deputy director of the f the Prisons Bureau. He convinces Stallone's character to do one last job before he retires (natch) and Jones is set in a villainous role as a "ruthless guard with no moral compass who enjoys making life difficult for the protag." Now there's a fight I'd like to see. We don't how how 50 Cent will be used in the movie, but let's hope that The Tomb will be able to do a 180 on his failing movie career. (Fused Film)
Plot details and character roles have already been unveiled while the film is not slated to hit theaters until next year.
As previously reported, The Tomb sees Stallone playing Ray Breslin, the world's greatest designer of utterly impregnable high-tec prisons, who has to beat one of his own unbeatable systems to escape after being framed and wrongfully convicted of something or other. Schwarzenegger is playing kindly old lag Church, and Caviezel is the prison's villainous warden. He should watch Lock Up and see how that turned out for Donald Sutherland. Shooting starts sometime soon, for a release in 2013. (Empire Online)
Recently, SOHH spoke to 50's Things Fall Apart co-star/director Mario Van Peebles about his growth as an actor.
"I'm excited about it, I was excited working with 50 Cent on it," Peebles told SOHH. "I was happy to see him get to a new place. This is kind of a gift to him. It wasn't about headlines or money. There's a scene in the garage where you have Mario Van Peebles and 50 Cent but you also have [characters] 'Deon' and 'Eric' and there are some strong points being made. You build the house but forget to make the stuff the house is built under. You buy the record, but forget to buy the record label. It's about making you think, 'How can I be in the business of what I love?' If you've dropped out of school but never worked on your b-game -- your football, basketball, sports game is only going to carry you until you're 30 if you're lucky." (SOHH)
