Monday, Mar 5, 2012 3:30PM
After a year of whipping her hair back and forth and weeks since she shaved her head bald, Roc Nation protégée Willow Smith is currently following in hit-maker Pharrell Williams' footsteps by sporting a vibrant green hairstyle.
While she has not yet explained the inspiration behind her new look, Willow's hair is currently the talk of the Internet.
First Willow shaved her long hair and now it's neon green! She's definitely taking some spontaneous beauty risks and we're loving her fun sense of style. Willow Smith's upbeat songs now match her hairstyle! The bright green 'do that the singer recently shared on her Instagram is definitely on trend for spring. Celebs are trying out the neon trend in all sorts of ways. Miley Cyrus wore neon green nail polish, Nicki Minaj wore neon green eyeshadow and now Willow adds her hair color to the list. Will YOU be trying the neon trend this spring? (Hollywood Life)
Over the weekend, Pharrell was spotted in Paris rocking a less than envious shade of jade.
After scoring last weekend's Academy Awards with Hans Zimmer, Pharrell jetted to Paris for Fashion Week. The trendsetter sported green hair and leather shorts while attending the Lanvin ready-to-wear womenswear show with his new artist Maxine Ashley. He greeted Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and grabbed a seat in the front row with Jessica Alba and Dita von Teese. The N.E.R.D. frontman recently announced that he will be executive producing the soundtrack for the animated film Despicable Me 2. (Rap-Up)
In early January, Willow released a slew of photos donning a shaved head.
It's the end of an era, tweens and tween-adjacents. After 464 glorious days of hair whipping, Will Smith's singing, dancing daughter Willow posted a pic on her WhoSay account showing a newly shorn head. Known for out-there style choices, the "21st Century Girl" must have felt that long locks were so last year -- either that or she got a little too close to a "Fireball." All in all, it was a good run -- when Miss Piggy is mussing her golden coiffure in tribute, you know you've succeeded. Let us pause and take a moment to remember the paint-splattering, hair-whipping good times (video below, obviously). (Entertainment Weekly)
Outside of fashion, young Smith recently talked about her chemistry alongside "Fireball" collaborator Nicki Minaj.
"Nicki Minaj is absolutely an amazing person. She has so much energy and working with her was like just a spark. We were coming together with all our art and everything and it was amazing," Smith explained. "We didn't really give each other ideas. We were just kind of talking about what, like, kind of what a fireball is. A fireball is somebody--it doesn't have to be a girl or a boy--somebody that just goes out there and does what they want to do and is just so outgoing and tries new things and just is true to who they are."
