News: Whitney Houston Leaves Entire Estate To 19 Year-Old Bobbi Kristina
Thursday, Mar 8, 2012 8:53AM
Late music icon Whitney Houston has reportedly left her entire estate to 19 year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina nearly a month since her unexpected passing in Los Angeles.
According to reports, Bobbi will receive only a portion of the assets now due to age restrictions.
Whitney Houston has left everything in her will to her 19-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina. The singer's will, which was signed in 1993, does not mention specific assets, but stipulates that all of her belongings should go to her surviving children, and Bobbi Kristina was her only child. Though Bobbi Kristina will be immediately granted ownership of Houston's clothing, jewelry, cars, personal effects and other items, the singer's money will be placed in a trust. Bobbi Kristina will get some of the money upon turning 21. She will get more at 25, and the full balance at age 30. (Rolling Stone)
First drafted in the early 1990's, Houston's will was last amended back in 2000.
Houston, who died suddenly on Feb. 11 while in the bathtub of a Beverly Hills hotel room, mentions ex-husband Bobby Brown in the 19-page document, but doesn't leave him a dime. "I give my entire interest in all my household furniture . . . clothing, personal effects, jewelry, and automobiles, and all insurance policies thereon . . . to any children of mine who survive me," Houston, 48, wrote in the will obtained by "Inside Edition." The will, filed in Atlanta, was first drafted on Feb. 3, 1993, a month before she gave birth to Bobbi Kristina. It was amended on April 14, 2000. (New York Daily News)
This weekend, Bobbi Kristina's first interview speaking on her late mother will air.
The interviews will be featured in "Oprah's Next Chapter" at 9 p.m. Sunday, March 11, on OWN, of course. What will Bobbi Kristina discuss? I'd like to know her reactions to reports that she was out-of-control after her mother's death. But OWN says that "Bobbi Kristina shares personal memories of her mom and how she would like the iconic superstar to be remembered." Before that special, OWN will repeat "Remembering Whitney: The Oprah Interview" from 7 to 9 p.m. March 11. OWN said the special features "Whitney Houston's last in-depth television interview from 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' as Winfrey reflects on her personal memories of the superstar." (Orlando Sentinel)
Obviously close with her mother, Bobbi Kristina made multiple hospital visits following Houston's passing last month.
Whitney Houston's 18-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, was just rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles ... and it's her second trip to the hospital since her mother passed away last night ... TMZ has learned. According to our sources ... Bobbi was taken out of the Beverly Hilton on a stretcher (see photo above). It's the same hotel where Whitney was found dead. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ police and fire responded to a call for a medical emergency, but would not confirm who was transported. (TMZ)
