After reports of Shady Records' Yelawolf getting hospitalized hit the Internet Tuesday (March 6) morning, the rapper's manager has stepped up to provide fans with an update.
According to Yela's manager, rest will easily cure his stomach flu.
Yelawolf was admitted into a hospital in Madison, Wisconsin, on Friday (March 2) night, forcing him to cancel a scheduled March 6 performance at Saint Andrew's Hall in Detroit. But Kawan Prather, the CEO of Ghet-O-Vision Ent. (the production company Yelawolf is signed to along with Shady Records), said Yela's awaiting more details from the hospital, but that the Alabama rapper is doing fine and just needs some rest. "He's going to be okay," KP told XXLMag.com. "He just needs to get some rest. He goes hard at these shows and is taking some mandatory rest right now." (XXL Mag)
Concert promoter Live Nation broke the news of the Shady Aftermath artist's hospitalization.
Yelawolf was admitted to the hospital Friday after a concert in Madison, Wis., reports concert promoter Live Nation. The hip-hop artist was scheduled to perform March 6 at Saint Andrew's Hall in Detroit. "He remains under observation for illness," Live Nation announced. "At the request of his doctor, the show will be postponed to a later date." Tickets must be returned at point of purchase for a refund. They also will be honored at yet-to-be determined rescheduled concert. (Detroit News)
The rapper recently spoke on his ability to sell out packed shows.
Fans are understandably disappointed, especially with the artist only being at a pretty limited amount of venues- and Yela even recently spoke on ticket sales "We did this same run over a year ago and coming back, we sold out all the same venues, so it's a great feeling. I feel like the crowd is getting to know the records..." (Fresh Like Dougie)
In December, Yelawolf discussed his focus on staying grounded throughout 2012.
"Nah, I'm not. Trunk Muzik is a two week old baby, so I'm nursing that baby. That's all I really care about right now, Radioactive ... and I'm gonna hop back on the road from January to January, so my next year is booked already to do shows," Yela said when asked if he has plans for new projects. "I'm just ready to get these records out, hit up radio, hit the countryside, go to Australia, Canada. I'm not really focused on making music. I'm just focused on touring with this album. That's what got us where we're at - touring Trunk Muzik for the past year and a half. When we locked out to Radioactive, we put our focus on that. So it'll be the same cycle, tour Radioactive for awhile, and when it's time to record another album, we'll be on to that" (Global Grind)
