When you think of great hip hop artists, you may also begin to consider all the great collaborations we've seen in during the span of the rap era. Nas and Raekwon on "Verbal Intercourse" or Pac and Dre on "California Love." Yep! The rap collabo is kinda like a big deal, because when certain artist unite, magic happens.

It's kinda funny, but I never realized Jay-Z and Common have never officially worked together. Sure, they've name-dropped each other in songs (who could forget The Black Album's backhanded compliment "Truthfully I'd rather rhyme like Common Sense, I sold 4 mill, I ain't been rhymin' like Common since") and through their mutual friend/artist Kanye West it would seem a no-brainer that these two icons of the mic would join forces for at least a single. But nah, hasn't happened. A fact that Common recently said he'd like to change.

In a recent interview with liqueur brand X-Rated, Common expressed his hopes of collaborating with Hova on a track. Although the two have yet to hit the studio together in their careers, they were seen celebrating Nas's 38th birthday together last year."The emcee that I would like to work with that I haven't worked with, I would say it would be Jay-Z, definitely," he said. "Jay is probably one of the people that I would like to work with most out of the Hip Hop era of music."(Hip Hop DX)

Dope stuff. SOHH Watcha Think: Who are some other artists that have yet to collaborate that would likely bang out some dope music?

In other news ... Odd Future rapper Tyler the Creator were hanging with the real goons at a recent show. Well, not sure what went wrong but at the 3:27 mark, the Creator is escorted offstage by his neck by one of Gucci Mane's security guards. Wait. Gucci is free?! Burr.
