Brooklyn rapper Lil Kim opened up on her feelings toward Bad Boy Records CEO Diddy this week and admitted that while she may not always co-sign what he is pushing, she is aware of his sincerity at the end of the day.
Detailing her love and hate relationship with Puff, Kim credited him for the knowledge he gave her back in the 90's.
"Puff never surprises me. I don't agree with everything he does," Kim explained, "I don't always like him. I don't necessarily think he's a really good person all the time, but the Puff that I know can be very loving, very caring, very understanding at times, and very sweet. Puffy taught me a lot on the business side in this industry. Just being underneath him as a little sister, I learned a lot." (RapFix)
She also touched on her current relationship with G-Unit leader, 50 Cent.
"That's my boy. Him and [boxing champion] Floyd Mayweather are good friends of mine," she added. "I spent New Year's and Christmas with both of them. 50?s not really involved in my project, but I believe maybe in the future, he will be. He's doin' his own thing right now. I'm sure we'll also probably work together in the future. We've been in the studio trying to come up with the right song." (RapFix)
Back in late 2010, Diddy attempted to play peacemaker in light of a war of words between Kim and rap rival Nicki Minaj.
"My whole take on the situation is that I love Lil' Kim no matter what's going on, no matter what's being said," Diddy said in an interview with Funkmaster Flex. "Kim definitely has a responsibility for my success. Me working with Nicki Minaj has nothing to do with going against Kim. When Kim works with other producers, when she raps with other artists, I'm not getting upset. It's not a problem...I think a lot of us who have been here for a long time including yourself, Flex, we have inspired a lot of people. We have motivated a lot of people, we have touched a lot of people in a certain way. We have been those cats that people aspire to be. I wouldn't be around Nicki if I ever heard [anything] negative said about Kim. I've never heard [anything] like that." (Hot 97)
Earlier that same year, the Queen Bee described her frustrations over Diddy's alliance with Minaj.
"Puff is my brother, I can't disown him...he just called me after he called everybody else...brothers and sisters fight to the extreme....Puffy should be ashamed of himself, I want to spank him. When I came home from jail, there was nothing that he couldn't ask me to do...." (Miss Info)
