The Neptunes' Pharrell Williams will not be hard to find in a crowd these days as new photos of him at Paris Fashion Week show him now donning a head full of green hair.
The platinum-selling producer, sporting his new look, was spotted with singer Maxine Ashley this weekend.
After scoring last weekend's Academy Awards with Hans Zimmer, Pharrell jetted to Paris for Fashion Week. The trendsetter sported green hair and leather shorts while attending the Lanvin ready-to-wear womenswear show with his new artist Maxine Ashley. He greeted Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and grabbed a seat in the front row with Jessica Alba and Dita von Teese. The N.E.R.D. frontman recently announced that he will be executive producing the soundtrack for the animated film Despicable Me 2. (Rap-Up)
Williams' green look comes nearly a year after artists like Soulja Boy Tell Em and Chris Brown went hair color-changing crazy.
If Chris Brown is the new Sisqo then Soulja Boy must be the new Eminem, at least visually. Adding to a now growing list of artists who are all going the route of dying their hair blonde, rapper Soulja Boy is the latest to join the fray. Earlier today SODMG founder revamped his Twitter page revealing a photo of his wavy hair with a golden brown hue, a stark contrast from his jet black hair. There's been no indication what trick SB may have up his sleeve that led to the coloration but it's a safe bet his audience will have no shortage of words over his latest look. (Rapfix)
In April 2011, West Coast rapper Game unveiled a red-splattered mohawk.
"N!ggas hatin on the mohawk ha ha ha... I didn't dye my sh!t for you Ms J azz n!ggas ! Let's see how the women feel ???," Game tweeted Tuesday (April 6).
"Don't be mad my n!gga, Red mohawks & flipping fries @McDonalds just dont mix. Some n!ggas just cant pull it off......"
"It works when u walkin in the bank to deposit $100,000 though."
"Somebody go dye they va-jay-jay RED. Then twitpic it, then I'll know you serious ha ha ha" (Game's Twitter)
In light of artists like Wiz Khalifa rocking blonde streaks last year, SOHH hit up colorful rapper Curren$y for his take on the wave.
"Wiz's cool because nobody else was wearing blonde streaks in their hair," Curren$y told SOHH. "I encountered a person yesterday who was [rocking the hairdo] and I was like, 'Now that's not right'. I had to point them out. But I didn't call this guy out, [my] homegirl called him out. He walked up to me and was like, 'Yo, what's up?' and it was heartbreaking because this girl was like, 'Yo, does he have a f*cking [hairdo] like your friend has?' And I was like, 'Ah man, yeah, he does!' It was crazy. It's not something you see on the homies, except for maybe Kwame. Kwame can get away if he's wearing one because he's the one who made that sh*t up." (SOHH)
