Rap veteran Nas recently confirmed his appearance on Nicki Minaj's upcoming sophomore album: Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded and said he instantly fell in love with their joint record upon first hearing the track.

According to God's Son, Minaj initiated the collaboration by reaching out to him first.

"Nicki hit us up, I got love, so it was nothin' -- I did the record," Nas told MTV News on Saturday night before his show at South by Southwest. While fans wait to see how Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded holds up sonically, Nas gives his own assurance for "Champion." For the Queensbridge, New York, MC, it all boils down to a simple feeling: "It's hip-hop music; music is music. If I feel it, I can get on it. I heard the track, I felt it, I loved it." (MTV)

Over the weekend, Nicki's new album tracklisting hit the Internet and created quite a buzz.

A few days prior, Minaj hinted at having a hip-hop legend on her LP.

Nas has also kept busy as of late, dropping new music for thirsty hip-hop heads and long time fans.

Nas comes back with a vengeance on "The Don," the heavy-hitting single off his upcoming 10th album. Produced by Salaam Remi, Da Internz, and the late Heavy D ("Heavy D gave this beat to Salaam for me to rap to"), the reggae-flavored tune features Nasty Nas in top form, touting tough bars over a rasta hook. Welcome back "The Don." (Rap-Up)
