Over the weekend, newly acquired New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith, felt the wrath of the NBA after making headlines for tweeting a controversial photo of rapper Joe Budden's ex-girlfriend turned video vixen, Tahiry Jose.
According to reports, Smith will have to pay up thousands of dollars for his Twitter taunting.
New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for posting "inappropriate pictures" on his Twitter account, the league announced Saturday night. Smith posted a picture of a semi-nude woman on his account late Thursday night. He told reporters in Milwaukee on Friday night that he regretted the tweet. "I didn't know it was going to be as big a deal as it is now," Smith told reporters on Friday. "I definitely regret it. Anytime I do anything that takes away from our team, I'm definitely going to regret it." Smith said on Sunday that he has no plans to appeal the fine. (ESPN New York)
A few days ago, Tahiry took to Twitter and playfully plotted payback on Smith.
"I'm so pissed tweeps. Imma choke @TheRealJRSmith .. He thinks this is the funniest sh*t ever. so pissed but can't stop laughing," she tweeted March 8th. (Tahiry's Twitter)
Although now deleted, a still shot shows Smith apologizing to both Tahiry and Budden following the tweet.

The racy photo made big headlines late last week.
Last week, Knicks guard JR Smith tweeted the picture from his official account. Smith was on the road for a game in Milwaukee. The original message was a retweet of Tahiry's comment "I can't watch the game like this. D- ... you!" Added to the message was a Twitpic of Tahiry laying on a bed, with her backside facing the camera, and her eyes focused on the basketball game on TV. (LA Late)
