News: Fabolous Becomes A True Believer, "When You First Heard It, You Didn't Know If It Was A Fluke Thing"

Brooklyn rapper Fabolous may start rooting for the Nets once they trek their way to his hometown next season but in the meantime F-a-b-o is riding with the New York Knicks and their overnight sensation, Jeremy Lin.
Although the Knicks are currently on a minor three-game losing streak, Fab said the team's star point guard has made him a believer of their potential.
"Jeremy Lin is a shining star right now. It's good to see somebody -- he got that story behind him," Fabolous told MTV News at a Brooklyn video shoot. "I think a lot of people, even myself, when you first heard it, you didn't know if it was a fluke thing or sometimes a kid has a good game and they beef it up, but he's actually playing well." (MTV)
Just last month, fellow BK rapper Maino said he has his eyes set on the Lin-sanity movement.
"I feel good about it. We needed that energy, we needed that energy in the city," Maino said in an interview. "Part of inspiring people is you need that energy to make them feel proud, make them feel worth, feel their worth and seeing Lin out there dishing the rock -- they're doing their thing. It's bringing this proudness back to the city. ... The first time I seen him, I was like, 'Who the f*ck is this?' ... The first game I caught was when they played against the Lakers. That's when he cracked on Kobe [Bryant]. That was the first game I caught." (All Hip Hop)
Prior to Lin's explosive debut as a Knick's player, fellow BK rapper Red Cafe claimed the Knicks were lacking stamina.
"I'm a hometown guy. I'm a neighborhood guy. There were a lot of great years I saw the Knicks do some explosive things. John Starks, Ewing, Sprewell. I liked it. We were tough guys. It was nice to see them match up with guys who had more talent. I just love the Knicks. They break my heart all the time," Cafe said in an interview. "You gotta win the game before you get on the court. You have to take their heart. I think [Carmelo Anthony] can do it. [Amar'e] Stoudemire can do it. They just have to make the decision. We're in New York City. Coming into that Garden, that's a big deal. Other guys go on that stage and they know they gotta show up. We need [expletive] Anthony Mason and Charles Oakley right now. Those guys came in the game and took hearts, asap." (The Post Game)
Recently, Atlanta rapper Killer Mike said while the former Harvard student impresses him, he believes LeBron James' Miami Heat are primed to make an NBA Finals run once again.
"Honestly, this year you're looking at potentially the Miami Heat winning the championship," Mike told SOHH. "I think LeBron James is finally coming into his own. I think he's the illest, tallest point guard in the game. I appreciate [New York Knicks' guard] Jeremy Lin because I appreciate any guy from Harvard playing profesionally. [laughs] I like New York. I ain't got no issues with them. I want to see the Knicks do good but shout-out to my n*gga Kobe [Bryant] and the motherf*cking Los Angeles Lakers. [laughs] The Clippers look dominate now and I ain't mad at them but they didn't want Kobe to get Chris Paul at point. If Chris would have [got traded to the Lakers], we'd be talking about a whole different thing right now. No matter how dominate you are in the season, you gotta make the play-offs. I really think the Heat could win the championship. I'm not making that my prediction, but I'm letting people know I think the Heat might take the championship this year." (SOHH)
